There is something weird going on. Kimiko dipped out pretty suddenly, they can’t keep a Becky for more then 6 months, countless names have dropped.
I wonder what it is?
Waitress has definitely been an interesting show to follow casting wise, and we've seen a fair share of Dr. Pomatter's and Jenna's. I think that after Sara and Gavin's run, it would be for the best if the show were to close since it seems the only way they've been able to keep running is by casting big names. I'm really excited to see how Gavin does as Dr. Pomatter; I've been thinking about this ever since he previewed some songs with Sara in 2015! Interested to see what will happen after February 3rd...
Torns now gets a four week stint. Doubt it'll happen, but it would be nice to see her face on the Playbill for once. Torns will now have played Jenna for a total of 11 weeks this year(Jan. 10- 14, Mar 13 - Apr 8, Aug 21 - Sep 2 & Dec. 11 - Jan. 5, 2019). If the show doesn't close on Feb. 3, Torns should be the one closing the show as Jenna. She's definitely earned it.
I saw Torns in the show November 2017 when Betsy Wolfe was out of the show for a few performances. Torns was great. I agree. Put her on the playbill although I doubt it’ll happen.

Becky? Charity is currently Becky and she was part of the original cast...even starting at ART in MA before Broadway.. Keala started at ART too before Broadway but got The Grestest Showman and left. Charity spent almost a year here as Becky before joining the Waitress tour for anothwr year as Becky and then she returned. NaTasha spent a year here leaving only because of Charity’s return.
Yes there was one actress who was in for 3.months who was there to fill in the gap when others’ schedules didn’t align properly. Where is the unexplained turnover? All shows have turnover when it’s been around almost 3 years.

I haven't! despite being local. Saw Waitress with Katharine McPhee; will probably go back to see Bareilles. (Wasn't a huge fan of hers last time she was here, but I loved seeing her at the JCS dress rehearsal and have since read her book - she, and the Waitress soundtrack, have really grown on me.)
I do agree with the sentiment that the national tour makes this one a tougher sell for tourists though.
I was at the final performance of both Nicolette Robinson and Alex Wyse (Ogie). At the end of the evening Sara came out with bouquets for both of them. Nicolette was an amazing Jenna. Sara will always be my favorite Jenna but Nicolette's voice is out of this world powerful AND beautiful, and she has her own approach to the role. A real low-key humor and sweetness that was very winning. I also thought Alex Wyse was a wonderful Ogie. It's a shame I saw rows of empty seats in the orchestra and in general the audience was low-energy, as what was happening onstage was really good. Dan Tracy the Earl understudy was wonderful as well. I hope the diner can remain open because it's still a wonderful show.

Steven Good will be filling in as Dr. Pomatter from Dec 18th-26th. The tour is on a Christmas break from the 17th to the 27th
Odd that the tour is going on a break during probably the most bankable time of the year.
Hello Dolly also has a holiday lay off.

I was actually thinking how nice that the cast gets to go home over the holidays. Plus I imagine most subscription packages/houses include something more holiday-related during this timeframe.

On Your Feet is also on a holiday break.
The tour has no issues selling tickets no matter where they are. The few dates I looked for tickets in Richmond,VA the shows are 95% sold out. Same for Memphis,TN.

I know this will probably never happen, but I'd love for Carmen Cusack to replace Sara when she leaves the show.

As much as I love Carmen Cusack, 1. Isn’t she involved in Lempicka?
2. As a huge Waitress fan, I just don’t see her in the role.

There was an audition notice for the current Lempicka lab seeking an actress of color, so it seems like the creative team is going in a different direction.

I believe they brought in someone from the tour to be the second Jenna cover while Torns is Jenna. Not sure if it's Emily Koch or Grace Stockdale.

If anyone knows who they brought in, I would love to know! Also, would Molly Jobe be the first cover then? or would someone from tour be the first cover and Molly be second?
Jobe should be the first cover. She's in Torns' track. This also gives the show another female swing until the tour starts again on December 27.

If she is in Stephanie's track, Emily Koch (tour swing, u/s Jenna) would be the most logical cover for Molly.

They are planning a big announcement for the next Dr. Pomatter after Gavin. https://twitter.com/waitressmusical/status/1075561562516193285?s=21
Just a hunch, it’s Joey McIntyre from New Kids on the Block.
Am I correct that he was not well received on Broadway previously?
