So happy to hear this! It's been sitting there rotting away for decades. A true palace of a theater in its glory days.

Curious to see what it will be able to accommodate... (the theater's stage/screen backs up to Lawrence I believe, so backstage space could be very limited.) Also how people will react to the neighborhood's sketchy reputation. Bought a condo around the corner from the theater years ago, and we only lasted a year. Time will only tell if suburbanites, Lincoln Park folk, etc. will venture there for evening shows; seems like a venue that size would need to bring in a LOT of people in from other areas to survive. All that said, I'm pulling for them to make it work after decades of false starts.

Yes, the auditorium part of the theater is a shambles. (leaking roof etc.) I noticed the interview stayed in the (huge) lobby area. That looks to be in good shape, at least.

Apparently at the time, the interior structure was stable enough to allow us to meander around the balcony. There was water leakage here and there, besides the roof/ceiling.
