Lennon
wait---did you just put Lennon under the best musical category?
There are only 4 nominees in the best musical, play, and revival categories, as well as score.
The History Boys?
Lennon was extremely painful to sit through...it will not get any nominations.

Chad Kimball?
Did you SEE "Lennon"?
Please tell me you are joking!
I think your predictions are incredibly off.

I'm sure they are off. Let me know HOW you think they're off, though. That way, we can have a discussion.
Also, as much as I love Carolee Carmello, Lestat shouldn't get any nominations either!
Well, you listed 5 nominees in some of the categories, and they only have four.
LENNON will not get anything.
Sutton Foster will not and doesn't deserve to be nominated.
Souvenir will not be nominated for best play.
Bridge and Tunnel probably will not be nominated either.
The Odd Couple probably won't get nominated, and Awake and Sing!'s nomination depends on how good or bad CAINE MUTINY is.
Play: Inishmore, History Boys, Rabbit Hole, Shining City
Musical: Drowsy, Purple, Jersey Boys, The Wedding Singer
Musical Revival: Threepenny, Sweeney, PJ
Play Revival: Faith Healer, Three Days of Rain, Caine Mutiny, Awake and Sing
And Brian D'Arcy James has one of the smallest roles in INISHMORE. Not a chance in hell he'll be nominated as a Leading Actor. David Wilmot is their leading contender.

Lestat and Lennon both hold a special place in my heart. I know most people don't think they'll get nods, but -- I think the work of the actors in those dim-witted shows is seriously higher class than those in shows where the role is spelled out for you.
Like I've always said: in a great part, almost anyone can win. In a bad part, only the great excel.

How can TCP NOT win, then!?
TCP could very well win, BSO. Unless they want to give the award to a jukebox musical. Haven't see Drowsy [4/15] or Wedding Singer [4/28] yet though.
It is a very weak year for new musicals...

With all the new musicals, you'd think more than a couple would be great. Turns out, most of the good new musicals are off-Broadway this season.
Broadway gave us these gems this season:
Ring of Fire
Lennon
Tarzan
Hot Feet
Wedding Singer
In My Life
Lestat
Sort of makes you wish for the days of Dracula and Dance of the Vampires, doesn't it?
well we might as well give the color purple the award right now
It's too bad The Woman in White closed. I liked it much more than Lennon, In My Life, Lestat and Ring of Fire. If it was still running, I think it would deserve a Best Musical nomination.
I would say JERSEY BOYS is the one to beat - unless they cream for Oprah.

Maybe Joe Brooks will have a shot at a nom!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
It's not out of the question - his score is certainly better than LESTAT and TARZAN.
BSO, I almost spit my water all over the computer screen. That was hilarious!

I'm not sure I would count out Allsion Fischer, but there is a ton of competition in the acting catagories this year.
Didn't Aida win for score the year it opened? But it didn't get a best musical nod, right? I'm hoping that Lestat might, *might* get a score nomination, except for the fact that it's score & lyrics, which means it now won't.

i have no clue what will get best score, um... wow, it seems like joe brooks has even more of a chance of getting a nom, there isnt that much this year in the way of great music- no piazzas!!!
The best score nominations will probably be:
THE COLOR PURPLE
THE DROWSY CHAPERONE
THE WOMAN IN WHITE
(insert terrible score here)
The possibility for a THREE DAYS OF RAIN nomination here seems possible, but they'll probably go for THE WEDDING SINGER.
