I agree with the above poster who says the race for best musical is between Color Purple and Drowsy Chaperone.
I think best actress is between LaChanze and Kelli O'Hara (with LaChanze as the favorite. Best actor is almost a lock for John Young (although depending on the reviews for Josh Strickland and the Sweeney and Drowsy Chaperone marketing). I can't imagine anyone seeing Drowsy Chaperone and thinking anyone should win the Tony besides Beth Leavel. She's remarkable. But, this may be a case of the little show that couldn't.

can i assume the first title listed would be your estimated winner? I strongly agree with your choices everythingtaboo
It's actually just alphabetical...:)
But I'm glad we agree!
Caine Mutiny is a revival of a very old play, so it won't be in the Best Play category.
There's also Shining City as a possible contender in the play categories.
Christian Hoff BEST get a nom for Featured Actor in a Musical.... he REALLY deserves one
InfiniteTheaterFrenzy --I COMPLETELY agree re Christian Hoff. It's gotta happen!
Christian Hoff better get a nom for best featured. He was fantastic. I am pulling for John Lloyd Young.. LOVED LOVED LOVED him. Anyone seen Alan Cumming in Threepenny Opera?
Having just seen The Drowsy Chaperone, i really think that it could take Best Musical, especially since The Color Purple seems to have lost a lot of steam publicity wise.
I absolutely adored Bob Martin's performance and I really wish he could take the tony, although he has absolutely no shot... hopefully he will get the tony for the book
