Was he performing fellatio on that mic?!

Oh...and that IS in fact a mix. If he couldnt sing that high he would have a much more pronounced falsetto. so...BAM.
saw this last night when I watched my tape of The View.
It was so weird, but he has a voice.
He seemed to be more spoofing than being serious.
But he has a nice voice, if he wasnt trying so hard
To be like Effie.

First of all, that doesn't even make sense. He IS singing in a very pronounced falsetto. Second of all, men don't HAVE a mix. I have studied vocal pedagogy for the better half of a decade and have sung for longer.

fine...call it what you will...but what i am saying...since he seems to be a tenor...i guess is that there is a lot more chest in it than some falsettos have...which makes it sound more like a mix.

Yup. Which is what I wrote in my original post.
The difference is, though it *sounds* chesty, there is no chest, so is not a mix. A falsetto becomes very developed when you can resonate it in your nose. You have to find the sweet spot and then it sounds incredible.

How many thousands of little gay boys have sung that song behind closed doors? Von Smith is just living out every show princess's fantasy. I thought he was great fun.
i'll buy his cd whenever he signs with a label. he sounded great!
I don't think I liked it. HE himself may not be a freak, but that rendition was freaky. I was too busy staring in disbelief to even judge the talent. It seemed like he was auditioning for whatever may be up for casting-he was all over the place with his voice and his histrionics. I
Just watched it.
What the f*ck?
I mean, I guess he's good, but I genuinelly didn't know if he was being serious or joking. It just got awkward toward the end.
That was so weird. He has a good voice, but he added some strange stuff.

I watched on the site that must not be named.
He was awesome, but goofy...
Hmmmm...this thread makes me wonder.....do we "show people" who now watch the view for the Broadway stuff have any effect on the ratings? I mean even a blip when they announce that shows will be performing...Probably not....there aren't enough of us. :)
Did Rosie think he was a young Lesbian?
