Cast members on the national tour, Chicago, and Broadway cast are requesting to join the much anticipated LA company of Wicked. It will be an opened ended run.
The opening night is scheduled for May 2006.
I hear that everyone wants to be in the cast.

Posted: 10/26/05 at 12:38pmI didn't hear about a date but I did hear the rumors of it returning for a sit down production (or at least a more lenghty run) with NO LOTTO option.

That should be fun, except for the no lotto option.
I would love to see it again.
Pop - how are you feeling today?

"Cast members on the national tour, Chicago, and Broadway cast are requesting to join the much anticipated LA company of Wicked. It will be an opened ended run."
Why would cast members request to be a part of it?

Maybe they are getting sick of the travel?
I would imagine tours can get pretty draining.
A sit-down production is probably a bit easier on you.
And, some of us actually like living on the left coast.

Posted: 10/26/05 at 12:54pmWhere will this production be at? I assume the Pantages unless they plan on rehabbing another theatre.
#9re: WICKED IS coming to LA!!!
Posted: 10/26/05 at 1:38pmpantages has a whole bunch of shows scheduled for the spring and summer of 2006 so if it was true, i doubt it would be untill after that season is over

Posted: 10/26/05 at 1:40pmLike I said, I never heard of a date...and being that the tour is in San Diego and Orange County next summer it may make sense that the sit down happens after that... who knows.

Do you have a link regarding this, musicguy?
It seems that a sitdown anytime in 2006 would be odd for LA due to the Pantages scheudling and the tour in Orange County.
It might be even stranger to pop up after 2006 just because it may not be as (pardon the pun) "popular" for a sit down in the LA market.
If it does sit down, the lack of a lotto would be pretty sad.

Fosse76---You're joking right? There's this little-known tucked-away place out here called Hollywood. A few actors would like to be seen by the agents and casting directors around town while they have a gig going on. Those that are interested in film or TV careers, at least.

Posted: 10/26/05 at 2:35pmI don't believe that is what they meant...they are probably confused why they would want to transfer from one production of Wicked to the LA production.

I would think a sit-down would be easier to manage than a tour on a personal level.
As I said before, I would think touring must be very wearing on peformers.

Broadway and Chicago are sit-downs. They aren't travelling. And not everyone wants to be in Hollywood.

I personally think she's too talented to not move on to other things after March. I mean she's been with the show for YEARS. Let the green girl move on! :)

Posted: 10/26/05 at 2:45pmMaybe it will be a sit down production, instead of the tour just coming and staying there until whenever its time is up. Like they did in Chicago. Although I think with Chicago, LA, NYC, and a tour - its a little overkill! Wicked is taking over the country. I hear this scene/ punk emo kid singing Popular the other night at a show and then I went to eat after and heard this dude singing it - Then I jumped in my friends car and she had the CD in. Its everywhere! AWWwwwwwWWw

Depends on what you want (if you're a performer in this show)....
If you want to do theatre and make money? Stay in the tour. Actors get their union pay, PLUS a housing perdium. If they spend that wisely and save a bit, they can make a ton of money. The downside? You're not in the city for any new auditions (usually), or you have to bust your butt on a day off and fly back into the city for an audition (and back).
If you are interested in TV or film work, you need to be seen on interviews in Los Angeles. And you can keep your "day job" in Wicked while you persue it. Location, location, location.
