Ruthie Henshall's facial expressions tend to put me off, she does that thing where she brings her head back and sort of grins, its weird.

I once heard someone describe her (Ruthie Henshall) singing as sounding as though she's trying to swallow a whole meatball slightly larger than her windpipe. (The same person compared Michael Ball's singing to sounding as though he's sitting on a washing machine on spin cycle and Colm Wilkinson's to a man with a paralyzed lip trying to eat cottage cheese.) --- Schmerg_The_Impaler

I agree, why does it matter? I enjoyed Wicked very much, and would jump at the chance to post about it every chance I got! This goes for every show I really really loved..

Lotte-- Michael Ball is my favourite performer, which is why I feel obligated to make fun of him so much! ^_^ And I think he is arguably the prettiest Edna Turnblad. Apparently, drunk guys hit on him--

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but... when Michael Maguire sings on the Les Miserables TAC (especially on "Red and Black"), he blinks to the rhythm of what he's singing. It's really rather distracting. I saw a video of a sped-up version of Red and Black and it looked like he was batting his eyelashes coquettishly at Anthony Crivello.

Cecelia Bartoli.

Since someone brought up Ruthie Henshall, I've seen her perform from close up a few times. I like her but she sings through so much tension that it's hard to believe she can produce any sound at all. I don't think I've ever seen anyone else sing who looks as tense as she does when singing.

YES! I feel the exact same way!

Incidentally, the world needs more pictures of Terrence Mann's terrifying facial expressions. Anyone who's never seen him in the Tony Awards for Les Miserables needs to, because I've never seen such creepy facial expressions in such close succession.

Have you seen his picture on the poster board for RH(P)S? I'm taking a class at a Press office and they have it there. Pretty hilarious... from Javert to Czolgosz to Frank n Furter!

And I am none-too-subtly bumping this thread back to life with this simple question: Much as I love Sean Palmer, does anyone else think that sometimes, he bears a freakishly strong resemblance to Frankenstein's monster? (Only a much, much better dancer...)
