This has triggered inside me ever since I heard Laura Bell Bundy's Celine Dion imitation.
Do you like to sing songs in the style of a certain artist? Do you enjoy changing lyrics to something dirty? Or anything else I may not have mentioned.
Here are my picks.
I enjoy singing the first solo of Hear My Song in the style of (you guessed it) Celine Dion.
I enjoy changing the line from "But then the earthquake hits" to "But then the condom splits."
Anyone else?
Okay, this is a really bizarre thread, and you're probably kidding, but I'm bored so I'll humor you.
Today I was bored and reading about the strike and listening to my Legally Blonde CD so I tweaked the lyrics to Ireland reprise a little.
"Those stagehands fear nothing and no one/they'll keep fighting till everyone's dead/I'm not sure where this metaphor's goin'/I just felt like it had to be said/I've got tickets and now they're in danger/something I would have never dreamed of/But I'll go out there and see Spring Awakening/the show about date rape and love."
The title of this thread REALLY doesn't make me think of Celine Dion. Although it does bring back awkward memories of my boyfriend freshman year of college and how he always wanted to have Nirvana playing while we... held hands.

I like to give my friends music to sing but ill switch the gender of every role in the song, most of them wont notice AT ALL.
Singing like Carol Channing has saved my life on more than one occasion.
I sing some songs as Merman. It adds a whole other level to them.
I like to take songs out for quiet strolls in the park at about three in the morning. Then we go get a bite to eat at Yoshinoya. People tell me it's weird to do that to a song, but I really don't see anything wrong with it. The songs never complain.
I sing nearly everything as Axl Rose. I'm not joking. It's actually really hard to emulate!
The only thing I do is sing songs like Jennifer Holliday.
Take Rose's Turn, for example:
"Cur-ur-ur-ur-tain up-uh
Liyiyiyiyiyight the lights-uh
Play it-uh boys!
Yew etha got it-uh
O' yah ain't-uh
And boyoyoyoys I gawt it-uh"
It's very important to grind and growl a lot of words and you have to add an enthusiastic "uh" at the end of phrases like you're letting out all of your remaining air supply.
I like to sing like a big gospel woman. It's also really fun to sing just like Chita Rivera does in "Chicago", especially "La Vie Boheme".

Patti LuPone:

I like to "black/ghetto" songs up tremendously. I get majority of my inspiration from Jennifer Holiday and J Hud. I mainly attempt Rodgers and Hammerstein or Sondheim (which isnt that easy to do). Also I like to add some Mariah Carey runs throughout alot of songs...sort of like Shoshana Bean does...gotta love her
I like singing American Pie as Cher

the little things amuse me.
ok, this is really weird, but I love to role play with my songs.
Sometimes we dress up as cops and robbers.
I also enjoy a little bondage with my songs. Nothing extreme, just maybe cuffs and facemasks.

I just remembered. I enjoy singing the chorus of Eddie's Teddy reggae style.
I recently overheard one of my students saying that it's funny to sing the song "Fever," but change the word "fever" to "wiener."
I'm very ashamed to admit that I found this comical, but I did.
My friend and I once decided to dress up as the characters and act out and film our peformance (we were lip-syncing). It was dumb and ridiculous to anyone else but it kept up entertained for a good 2 hours.
I also have an impecable Colm Wilkinson impression that I like to give to songs. I have a special bit I like to do called "Colm Wilkinson sings The Beatles Catalogue"
Yeshturday...auwl my tchrubuls (reaching up into his high voice) seemed saaaaoh... (dramaticly soft) faur away
Shomething in the waayyyy shhe moooovzzz
Let it beeeaaah!
MrSweet-- My sister and I also like to sing songs as Colm Wilkinson... Not necessarily Broadway songs, either. Usually Kelly Clarkson or Cher songs, and if we're feeling especially creative, we'll toss in some James Blunt.
We get bored a lot.
