I know...
Do you think they may release Seasons of Love as a single? Or a new song for the soundtrack?

Oh my. I don't think I'd like THAT very much... but that's just me being elitist again. I'll shut up.

How about just having Adam sing Open Road? Does that work for ya, Emcee?

I suppose it improves the situation...

As to my previous post above- I was thinking along the lines of what they did with the Chicago soundtrack, by adding "He Had It Comin'" and "Love Is A Crime"

I know I'm a little behind the conversation (Damn Catholic school, not letting us use the computers...) but have a great time in Thailand, Anthony! My mom went there on tour with her choir in high school, she said it was amazing! Yay, I'm so excited for the new recording, I can't even imagine something better than the OBCR.... Wow! Well I have to go wrap presents for everyone in the middle school, so I spose I should go...if I don't get a chance to sign back on b4 I leave for Ny, everyone have a great..holiday season!

Hi, I'm new to BWW but picked up on this thread immediately. I love the OBC recording of RENT and was extremely excited to hear about the movie. I guess I should mention that I'm fifteen and live near Vancouver, B.C. I'm seriously considering a career writing Broadway shows and can't wait to get out of the small town where I happen to reside. It's good to hear that rehearsals are going well and that dancing on tables has not been cut. Um, I eat Oreos like any other cookie. I'm boring, what can I say?

i am sorry i am posting this now but i just want to thank you anthony for posting! I was just wondering, i don't know if this has been asked but what was it like working with Richard Linklater? I happen to be a big fan of his and was just currious.
"At the opening night party, they had clowns on stilts, jugglers, a chocolate fountain, popcorn, hot dogs. [My son] looked at me like I had been holding back. Like, 'This is what you do?' I had to tell him, 'No, no, darling. Opening nights don't usually look like this.' It's usually a dark bar with a bottle of vodka." ?Chitty Chitty Bang Bang's Jan Maxwell

This is just so cool. LOL. I just love RENT, and though I've been slightl skeptical of the movie from the beginning (though not one of those people so cynical that they would say the movie would be horrible even if they had every single detail the exact way they wanted it) each day I become more and more optomistic about it! It sounds like its going to be really, really great! I'm excited.
But now we have come almost to the end. One last step. And then, when I take power, they will be pulled down and ground into dirt for what they did to you. And what they did in so contemptuously underestimating me.

God, I can't wait until the soundtrack comes out. I wonder if it will come out before the movie, ala POTO or after the movie, ala CHICAGO? I hope it is the prior. SO GIDDY!!!!

I can't wait either! I am really looking forward to hearing Tracie and Idina sing Take Me, Or Leave Me. I also hope the actual orchestra music in the movie is going to be better like on the Chicago soundtrack. Not that I don't like the background music in the broadway recording, it's fine. Only I liked the music better in the Chicago movie than in the show. Anyone agree.
Anyway, good luck Anthony!

I've kind of gotten over the initial high of the announcement of the cast and everything and now twelve months just seems like forever. Don't get me wrong though. I'm still really pumped. Oh, and have a good time, Anthony!

anthony, i have a question i've been thinking about. i hope it doesn't get lost in the shuffle...
do you know if la vie boheme will be shot in the real live cafe? you said all interiors are being shot in SF, but that all *necessary* scenes are being shot in NYC. so, is it *necessary* for la vie boheme to be shot in the live cafe?
thanks in advance for answering. hope you're having fun in thailand!

CrAzIaBoUtReNt, I haven't seen Chicago on stage (due to my living so very far away from NYC), but I enjoyed the movie music.

It's going to be interesting to see just how many questions pile up while Anthony is in Thailand.

Cause he thought it would be a great place to practice his video shooting techniques to get him ready for the role of Mark.

Thanks spiderdj. You never know, he might have a laptop in tailand that he could use to answer our questions. I think I am too excited about the Rent movie. I am going to go with my cousin and we are going to dress up as mark and maureen! LOL

Sweet! I'm trying to get my sister to dress up with me. Unfortunately, my friends won't go with us if we do that. They'll be "embarrassed" or some such nonsense. Sorry, my sister informs me that she will dress up, and I'm not the one who is getting her to do it. Whatever.
