Greetings from Chiang Mai, Thailand, where I am sitting in an internet cafe that costs 20 baht per hour to use. 20 baht is about 50 *cents*. Gotta love Thailand...
Seriously, this is a pretty amazing country. The cities are incredibly chaotic, with tons of traffic and people walking around and motorcycles whizzing around corners, and yet there is an amazing peace everywhere as well. And people are genuinely among the friendliest I have ever seen. Not to mention beautiful.
Anyway, I just wanted to say sawasdee (hello) while I had the chance.
Hope all your holiday wishes come true. See you in the new year.
Anthony

Glad to hear Thailand is very cool. Motorcycles whizzing around corners sounds really cool.

PS-I don't know what your plans are, but if you can get to Hua Hin it is my favorite city in the country :)

I need to go there someday... Sounds like something to really be experienced...what isn't. but I love Asia, and haven't been to SE Asia yet...(though I again step upon the largest soapbox I can find to support Japan...but I'll step off quickly as to be subliminal-as-can-be about it...)
And thanks for the mini language lesson:) Sawasdee!
(And Kapkuhnka to Alix for that mini lesson, too!!!)
I tried starting belitz tapes for korean a long time ago-- what i remember from the tapes of it is "hello, I don't understand" (annyeoung-haseo, mawruge ssumneeda, if anyone wanted to know...that's why i changed the language of the title..heh...)
...I think we'd just love to hear from you now that there's been a major tsunami, but you're far enough away from the coastline according to that update...It's still got to be incredibly frightening and the like though, just to be in the area. I wish the best to all who were effected by it. Nature is so unpredictable..
I didn't see there was an update til today because I'm on vacation-- I can do one better on the internet deal-- it's free at my hotel and while you're supposed to sign up for twenty minute intervals, if you have you're own airport-ready computer you can use their network on it, obviously with no limit (to quote my aunt's boyfriend, Bob, on using their airport sys, "Four bars, baby!").... (Updating from lovely Turks and Caicos...)
Anyway-- thanks for the update, again!
Sorry for rambling, I'm just happy to have internet myself!
I'm gonna run off to go outside (in the shade probably, for I hate getting burned, I burn easily and I hate sunscreen heh *an easily solved paradox*) so people don't think I've disappeared into thin air...
I hope everyone has a lovely winter break/vacation or whatever it may be for every individual here!
