And do you know anything about her talent? She's a true Mexican born triple threat. She wouldn't need any dance training for the role. And she's 32 by the way. I don't know how old Karen is, but I understand how they would want Karen's more youthful look. But apparently Bianca did have a final callback.
Karen Olivo reads much younger than her age, didn't someone on this thread say she was 32? That sounds about right. Bianca on the other hand reads older or perhaps just about her actual age. I have never seen her live, but I have heard nothing but great things about her and as Ljay pointed out, she is a Latina actress. Obviously, I'm a fan of Olivo and would love for her to get the role, but wouldn't complain if Marroquin got the role, especially since she is an actual dancer.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
Bianca is smokin hot and looks late 20's at most. Most early 30's actresses can play late 20's. Plus they have more experience and probably more to offer as an actress.
People freakin LOVE to cry "too old!" on this board - as if these beauties are collecting social security. Ah - ignorant youth! Aren't you too young to be bitter?
new to this, so query: is it unusual for casting to be announced so late when the show goes on a little more than a month and a half? if all the rumors can be believed, it seems like potential castees don't even know who their castmates are yet--so that would mean they're not rehearsing (though i guess those who already got the part could be rehearsing their own lines).
Yes, I think its fairly unusual for the show to presumably be starting rehearsals in another week or so and the cast list to have not been announced. Obviously, there are some key pieces to the puzzle yet to fall into place (i.e. some contracts that haven't been signed yet).
Surely an announcement will be made sometime this week.
Since they just had final callbacks on Thursday, I'm sure offers were made only a couple days ago. Often the time between an offer being made and the contract being finalized and announced on Playbill or Variety is quite long. But I imagine that even if an official announcement doesn't come right away information will start to leak out...
