Can Josh Groban act? He's got a phenomenal voice.
Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?

Until pop stars can break out of the monotonous clone faux-R&B manufactured sound, I don't want to see any of them on Broadway. If one of them can sing a song straight and actually have acting ability, I might possibly consider going only if I had a free ticket.

He was on an episode of 90210 it's last season (I think) but I didn't see it...
I actually thought he HAD done Broadway, or at least theater of some type...I have a recording of he and Charlotte Church singing "The Prayer" that is just amazing...

IGGY AS SWEENEY!!! Genius, Papa, genius. And Debbie Harry as Mrs. Lovett.
Seriously, I would love to see Marianne Faithfull come to the stage and do something. She has acted in "Threepenny Opera" but that was only in Dublin.

Clay Aiken! And maybe Canadian Idol Ryan Malcolm as Mark in Rent?

A three-song-wonder from 20 years ago:
Laura Brantigan
(Gloria; How Am I Supposed to Live Without You?; Self-Control)
She had technique, put some oomph into her voice and had a bit of an edge. Oh, and she could belt them out too.

"and now (ugh) Brittany," wasn't Britany Spears in "Ruthless" in LA when she was little, i've heard that from like 3000 people.
Clay isn't a popstar, he's a bway star hiding in the closet, i mean, in a pop stars body. He needs to be on stage. he'd be great, his voice is very "new broadway" you understand?
Mandy Moore started in musicals like, that was her thing for most of her life, until candy. I think i'd like to see her do SOMETHING... maybe?

I would like to see Christina Aguilera as Anita in the upcoming West Side Story revival. Not only do I think she has the look now, with her new brunette look, but she definitely has the voice, dancing ability, and I think that she can act. She would be a wonderful "name" for a revival. She is about the ONLY pop star that I would like to see crossover right now. Besides, she really takes her art, and her music seriously. Something that most "artists" today lack. There is no sincerity, passion, or truth in their music. It's all about what sells. Christina's music does not reek of that, and she really has something to say in most of her songs.

Why thank you papa! I'm spoken for, so I would never take advantage of the position. But I imagine Namo would enjoy it quite a bit.

actually Rick Springfield was great in SMOKEY JOE'S CAFE back in 1999 and I would love to see him come back to Broadway. He was talked about in the very early stages of the father in AIDA.
He also had a 2 year largely sold out run in EFX ALIVE at the MGM Grand in Vegas recently.
RICK ROCKS :)

I had the misfortune of seeing EFX with David Cassidy. It certainly lived up to its name. All effects and nothing else. The lipsyncing was quite good, though.

Well Rick's version was great...they reworked around him..he wrote two new songs for it. Had an audience interaction part and from everyone I talked to from cast members who had been with the show from its first inception with Michael Crawford to jaded Vegas locals...they all couldn't say enough good things about Rick and the final version of EFX :)

I, personally, try to banish the memories of the recent Broadway outing of LSOH by trying to imagine the marvelous Cyndi Lauper as Audrey.
