I was just thinking about how many touring houses unveil their new fall seasons in the winter. What is going to be available? We had a bang up season this year because we got our cancelled shows plus the new season. However, I am left wondering what is coming down the pipeline, if anything?

Rumored to start touring in 2022-23 season: The Cher Show, Bettlejuice, Jagged Little Pill, Tina, Chicago (again).

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

There are also some of us (eg. Toronto) who only received one touring show this season (everything else is a London import or stand alone production), so things like Hadestown, Frozen, Oklahoma, My Fair Lady, Mean Girls, Moulin Rouge are all welcome to visit. I feel like there are somethings waiting in the wings

Barring any mishegas to follow, the JCS 50th anniversary tour [a/k/a "Who Will Win the Judas Sweepstakes"] should still be going next season; three dates in Canada -- besides the current Toronto run, of course -- that were postponed due to COVID are now planned for next fall.

Six is launching its US tour with a 4-month stop in Chicago from March-July next year. More dates to be announced.

Before they closed weren’t there plans to send Aladdin and The Book of Mormon back out on tour, but with smaller packages? I can see The Book of Mormon becoming a split week tour and Aladdin downsizing to become a weekly tour.

During it’s initial run, Aladdin was one of the biggest tours going out. I do remember hearing that they had planned to downsize in order to play/accommodate more cities/venues.

As much as people can speculate, you won’t know until closer to next spring/fall. Most places are in the midst of the seasons. There’s no way to know until closer. Keep an eye out on your theaters website for updates-I do know subscriptions are no longer on sale but only way to know is not speculation, but keeping an eye out for news.

Minneapolis just announced their 2022-23 season, and I couldn’t be more thrilled at the lineup!

WICKED: July 27 - Aug. 28, 2022

CATS: Oct. 25-30, 2022

HAIRSPRAY: Jan. 10-15, 2023

TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD: Feb. 14-19, 2023

Forgive me for the double post, but it looks like Aladdin will also be putting out a “newly imagined” tour in the fall. I’m curious if this reimagining means like, Macintosh’s POTO/Les Miz, or just scaling the production down to fit smaller venues (The Lion King, Wicked, and I believe one of the original POTO tours)

I am big. It’s the REVIVALS that got small.
