Book of Mormon = Lock
Memphis = Getting close to being a lock

Posted: 7/17/11 at 7:57amMEMPHIS has played 726 performances (and 30 previews) as of today and I don't think they plan to close any time soon. I'd say it's as close to a lock as anything on Broadway today.

Posted: 7/17/11 at 8:22amI doubt very much that War Horse will make it to 1000 performances -- but I beleive it will find a place in "longest running plays". I give it a full year to 18 months.

Book of Mormon, definitely.
How to Succeed COULD if they get another big star after Daniel Radcliffe.
Memphis and The Addams Family will.

Posted: 7/17/11 at 9:14amAddams Family won't be around much longer, I expect a closing notice at the end of the summer. How to Succceed won't make it either. A year is about the average life expectancy for a revival. Yes, certainly there are exceptions, but this won't be one of them -- it's not like its selling out without discounts. I expect their numbers will fall dramatically once the summer tourists go home. (I really liked H2S, and am really surprised that it wasn't selling better -- after all, it's on TKTS nearly every day.)

Yeah, I'd be shocked if THE ADDAMS FAMILY was still around by, say, the end of September--and since it's only at about 550 performances, it won't break 1000.
Even if H2S recasts, it won't break 1000 performances. The last revival only made it to 548.

Whatever I honestly don't care. You are always right, every one else is wrong. My opinion is different, but oh wait you are the second incarnation of Jesus so you must be right.
You're calling other posters rude but you come out with a post like this? Huh.
Anyway, it's not really debatable. If you want to count previews you can do so to your heart's content. But, when the producers roll out that "Happy 1000th Performance" cake for the cast that number will not include previews. The official count starts at opening night.
I really, really don't understand the appeal of Rock of Ages.
It was cute and I'm glad I saw it. But I don't think I'll be returning.

I also don't understand the appeal of Spring Awakening - saw it and thought that the lack of character development was dreadful.

I've been thinking about seeing it for a little while now (mostly because my mom has been asking me to go with her). But there is something about the crowds outside of the theatre before the show/the stage door crowds that frighten me a bit, haha. Maybe someday!

I went on a Monday evening and I had no issues with rowdy audience members or a massive crowd outside the theatre. The friend I went with had seen it multiple times said that Monday is the best time to go if you want to avoid the "rock concert" feel.
