Anyone know? It’s been dark for a little while. I know we were supposed to get Weezer, which obviously didn’t happen. And then I’ve heard rumors that they are doing some kind of renovation right now for an upcoming production- but haven’t heard any rumors as to what show it could be.

I believe there have been rumors swirling of Here Lies Love going there next summer. Don't know what that means for the spring, but that's what I recall as of late.

I was wondering the same when I walked by last night. At first I thought BTTF, but then I realized it's going into the Winter Garden. No idea!

There’s no physical signs of renovation on the outside at least. And usually renovations (at least the big renovations) are announced publicly- like with the Cort (now Jones), Palace and St James prior to Frozen.
That being said- boy does the Broadway need to renovated, its almost impossible for any show to be profitable there as it is now. It’s such a barn that nothing short of the next Wicked will really be able to survive there.

Nah. I still see signs from Little Prince. No indication that it's being renovated. Nothing outside the theater or anything either.

I was wondering if Parade could transfer there in the Spring. People on other threads said it would need a smaller house but if big names like Ben Platt and Gaten Matarazzo were in it, could that help fill seats? Especially if it was a STRICTLY LIMITED run.

Parade is in a tough spot for a transfer bc its a massive cast and orchestra, so needs a bigger house due to higher running costs, but the show itself just doesn't have much commercial appeal. Even with names like Ben and Gaten, idk if it could sustain an extended run. And that's if they could even get Gaten back, presumably he may need to start filming season 5 of stranger things soon.

I've heard that they are looking to transfer Parade. I don't know. I recently listened to the cast album and was blown away by how beautiful the score is. It would be a shame not to move it to Broadway. Especially for people who could not see it at City Center.

It really is a beautiful score, Dylan. But, I don't see it filling the Broadway 8 times a week. This theater has had some really bad luck as of late and I don't know what could be hugely successful there long term.

Which is a shame. I hope they can find a large, but not too large theatre to put this show in!

I think PARADE would get absolutely swallowed up in the Broadway, and would not sell out.
If HERE LIES LOVE is happening there this summer with a severely modified audience area, they’ll need an additional month or so of load-in to get it ready. Meaning a tenant would need to be out by April or May depending on when HLL starts.

Light in the Piazza got pushed out to June and I doubt they'd do it without Ruthie, so that would put them at like an early August start date at the earliest if she goes into HLL rehearsals immediately after LITP.
