What note does Brooklyn belt @ as the conclusion to Once Upon a Time?

hi all,

i did a search, i couldn't find any results - but if i missed something, a link would be much appreciated!

if not, does anyone actually KNOW - not just guess or presume - what the final belted note is at the end of Once Upon a Time?

merci...

"...But Kungurtseva reels off multiple fouettes and the tape is stopped so she can take a bow. The Jester, an abomination introduced to Swan Lake in Soviet times, extorts applause from the audience. The cuts don't help the storytelling, the production is bare bones and they go for the '50s-style happy ending. The audience cheers like mad at the end. It's the Russian ballet, after all..."

Okay hi...ouch!

i heard eden on the promo cd as well as live when my mother took me for christmas-- we thought we had just gone on an "off" night and that's why she screamed everything. but then i remembered disliking the screaming at Bway on Bway, and when we saw the Hair benefit she screeched out "Hippie Life". I'm just not an Eden fan because what fans call her "belt" sounds too much like the "scream" i've heard come from the daycare children i work with.

Eden Espinosa sang "Hippie Life" at the Actor's Fund benefit performance of "Hair" at the New Amsterdam Theatre in Spring 2004. She can also be heard (or skipped over) on their cast recording. I know this because I saw her live and am constantly skipping that track when I listen to the cd.

I can't say I care for that freakish high note.

Someone should really start teaching singers restraint. Just because I can hit the A an octave above that, does it mean I do? No, because my listeners would run away holding their ears and dogs would start a riot.

I see no virtue in being able to produce a sound or pitch that most people can't if you sound like you're doing yourself permanant vocal injury. It's not pleasing.

Tiny-Toon, get over yourself. I made a mistake. I thought she was there, because I remembered hearing the song. I was half right, she is on the recording.

When I attended the show, I went to see Raul Esparza, Adam Pascal, and Euan Morton. I didn't care for Eden's voice then and I don't now.

I apologize to whoever initially asked; I really thought I remembered seeing her there and the girlfriend I went with agreed with me. Maybe we were just woozy from the balcony seats or the fact that her coat was stolen that night. Or maybe I was so elated that I had run into two old friends as I was leaving the theatre that I just jumbled the memory of the show with the recording.

But I was there. And if you don't believe me, Tiny-Toon, well that's just too darn bad. I just feel sorry for your eardrums and the destruction that will plague them after years of listening to Eden massacre the higher octaves.

I'm amazed at how juvenile most of these comments are. Please, please, please tell me you're all under the age of 16, because that will be the only thing that makes sense.
As far as her "screaming," or whatever it is that people feel the need to insist she does, I'll make my point yet again. If she did, in fact, scream, there's no way her voice would have been able to hold up during her stint in "Wicked," during the eight months that "Brooklyn" ran. Bare in mind, she wasn't out much at all during that run, so lets give the woman some credit. Someone on the board mentioned they can hit an A above that? If it's so "scream" like, why have you bothered to see if you can hit it? And if you can do it 8 shows a week, I will gladly give you credit. Until then, lets all grow up just a little bit and try to respect how some people on this board enjoy a high belt.

For me, Vincent, it's not about the way she produces the sound but about the quality of the sound she produces. If it sounds like a scream, that's bad quality, and not pleasant to hear. I've heard other people hit the same note without finding it painful, because I enjoy a high belt that sounds like a high belt and not like some sort of animal.

I, for one, don't care if she has the vocal ability of doing it eighty times a week if it doesn't appeal to my ears. And I also don't care if she has the vocal ability of burping the alphabet eight times a week--it's still unpleasant and something I don't care to hear.

Personally - I love it. I love hearing Eden sing. There's nothing hotter to me than hearing a chick belt some crazy a$$ high note. I love it. Is this note hard to hit for a girl? Who are they going to get to tour with the show?

The Hippie Life is a skipable track no matter who sings it. What a terrible throw away addition to an almost flawless score. It's such a terrible cliche number and should be cut from any production of HAIR. As far as that note........too high would be my guess. If I wanted to be screamed at for 2 hours I'd go to the republican national convention in drag.
