Interesting, I had heard WANTED is next up for the Jones, and GALILEO pushed to next season.

Grab your torches, head back to camp. Goodnight.

Never have I been so conflicted. I really loved GUN & POWDER (I loathe that basic ass new title) at Papermill, but I also want Raul Esparza back on stage again (even if it means having to deal with Joy Woods)

Joy Woods is playing Deena in the Dreamgirls revival, not doing Galileo.

Wanted got pushed to the Fall.

Galileo is a fool to rush in.

I honestly expect it to be another play or London export. Maybe that Rudin Salesman rumor that's floating around?

I'm just here so I don't get fined

It's funny you mentioned London exports because I was just on a theatre trip to London and saw JUST FOR ONE DAY: THE LIVE AID MUSICAL at the Shaftesbury Theatre which I thought was absolutely incredible and I encourage everyone to go see it in London before it closes in February. But it would really love to see this on Broadway, yes it may be another jukebox musical but it's one that message remains all the more timely and relevant in 2025. Not to mention it's produced by Sonia Friedman and Kevin McCollum AND it's from the director of & Juliet and the co-writer of Something Rotten.

You understand it is closing early in London because it is not selling well there. Not exactly a ringing endorsement to transfer.

Yes I’m aware but i really do not understand why it isn’t selling well. This kind of show should be on Broadway, because its message is one that everybody needs to hear.

Huh? It was not a limited run.

But it also probably means their planning for it to go to Broadway…besides everything is a limited run in London

well just because it want a limited run doesn’t mean it would be a bigger success on Broadway. I mean why would you think that Scott Rudin would want another one of his shows on Broadway this season, his Little Bear Ridge Road isn’t selling well and given his history it should be a sign for him not to come back.

Again...Huh? What are you extrapolating and why? Glad you liked the show. I have heard nice things about it.

I saw “Just For One Day”. Twice, in fact. I saw it at the old Vic and thought it was serviceable but wanted to see if they fixed and improved it for the Shaftesbury and they did not. It was pretty much the same thing. Again, it was fine. But until I opened this thread, I haven’t thought once about it.

I mean don’t get me wrong they could definitely change some things should they decide to take it to Broadway but I think those would be very minor. The one thing you really can’t change though is the way this story is told. I was thinking about this a lot after I saw it but the best way I could describe it to someone who’s never heard of it (which I’m sure is most people reading this thread) is if you took Come From Away and Rock of Ages and put it in a blender. I also could see some of the London cast transferring but some Broadway talent playing the leading roles. I mean just imagine Jennifer Simard playing Margaret Thatcher (and yes, for those reading this for the first time that is an actual character in the show)
