It's not going to be Heathers or Titanic.
skylight2, I have to ask. How much more work would it have been for you to simply say "no one knows" instead of directing the poster to a long thread that basically ends up saying just that?
I'm still wondering about Shakespeare in Love.
blaxx-that's in the works for the 2015-16 season. I doubt they'd leave that theater open for that long.

Oh, I read "in the near future" in some articles. With Smaxie saying a play is going in here, I thought this would be it. My bad.
Here is the article that states it isn't planned until next season.
Shakespeare in Love
Makes sense, thanks love. I wonder what play could aim to open in show a large space.
The rumor is apparently a play, but there are a number of things that could fit in here.
Could it maybe be the Forum revival, or has that been canned?
How about The Visit, which was originally planned for this theatre about ten million years ago starring Angela Lansbury before she had to drop out and endless complications ensued. The musical is, by many accounts, now in the best shape it has ever been in, so hopefully it comes in to some theatre this season.
Too intimate of a show for the WG. I think it should be a limited run fall tenant of a play before CAN-CAN opens up there in the spring or possibly FORUM.

I would guess a Skylight transfer or the Larry David play.
What's Skylight?
The Larry David one was what I thought of, too. I always get confused about whether the Winter Garden is a Shubert or Nederlander house.

Skylight would be better at a smaller theatre like the Jacobs or Longacre, same with the Larry David play. I don't think it'll transfer by the Spring but perhaps Wolf Hall/Bring up the Bodies. Given its success in London, a Broadway transfer seems likely.
I wonder if they're contemplating a holiday show of some nature.

Surprise "It's Only A Play" didn't snag it.
