Hey everyone, I'm new, so nice to meet you all!
Was just wondering, with Patti LuPone hot off of American Horror story, are there any chances of seeing her in a musical on Broadway again? Any rumors flying around?
Thanks!
I have to think she's considering retiring soon. I hope she does one last hurrah before she goes.
What in the hell would make you think that? She's constantly working.
Christ, you truly are insufferable. Why don't you just go back to making racist comments and remind people why they hated you to begin with.
What's the word on War Paint?
Why am I insufferable for suggesting that a 65 year old woman might consider retiring from the stage? After all, the Merm retired at 62.
I'm not saying she would retire from concerts or movies. But musicals are hard for woman of a certain age. I think she'll do one more, and that will be it.
Why so angry, Jordan Catalano?
I'm not angry at all. I just think you're an insufferable twit who has never had any idea what you're talking about.
Peace, Jordan. I shant respond to your bullying anymore.
Ok. In that case, you can use that free time learning the definition of the word "bullying".
Why would Patti ever retire? Unlike dancing, stage actors (and screen for that matter) can work really their entire lives. I highly doubt Pattiis planning an exit anytime soon.
I meant retire from musicals. Like Ms. Stritch said "If you wanna do musical comedy and ya wanna do it well, ya have to live like a f**king nun!"
I just think when someone gets to 65 eight shows a week two matinees gets to be a bit much. Pure speculation on my part. You could be right.
1. Stritch is really not a model for anyone. 2. Sixty now is nothing like it was when Merman hit that decade. 3. LuPone's voice is remarkably intact. She's recently begun singing stuff from "Evita" again.
On the other hand, major roles for sixty-something women aren't that easy to come by. Still I don't think retirement is something she's anywhere near thinking about (and nor should it be).
I love Stritchie!
Though I am worried that she appears to have fallen off the wagon.
Barbara Cook still perform. I believe that Patti will most likely continue to perform at least in concerts.

She's also proven that she's willing to take featured roles if it's a project or creative team she's excited about.
