So What's next for the Circle In The Square?
I'm pretty sure nothing has been announced. It really bums me out to see a theater dark for so long. The Gershwin is directly across from it, and when I saw WICKED last month it really bummed me out to walk past the Circle in the Square and see it just sitting there, lonely and empty.
Someday, they should put Twelve Angry Men in there.
I think Hands on a hardbody should go there!
I was hoping TRIBES might transfer there.
LIFE X 3 was the only thing I ever saw there. But I loved the venue.
I think THE LION KING would be cool there. But the stage is probably too small for that.

I had heard a rumor that Tribes was heading there...
^Tribes was supposed to go there but they decided to stay at the Barrow Street Theater and extended til January. If there isn't a vacancy in the theater after that, I wouldn't be surprised if they go there.
AJChavez, may I just say, I LOVE your avatar.
I think it's big of the Tribes producers not to move it directly to Broadway. It's doing great business for being in such an out-of-the-way place. I can't imagine it'd be too expensive to produce on Broadway. If they were smart they'd wait till the Spring, open it on Broadway, and rake in the awards.
I have it on a very reliable source that Tribes, despite being courted by interested parties, was never going to transfer to Broadway regardless of house.
Well that kinda sucks since I'd love for it to be seen by as many people as possible.

I may be in the minority, but I'd love to see a revival of Rocky Horror go in there again.

Super agree, its time for those lips to make their way back to Broadway...
I love Dollypop's passion for Godspell hehe :)
I love the uniqueness of Circle In The Square. It is so intimate and the audience feels involved. I am sure it is a challenge in terms of production and the venue is small, so $$$ is probably an issue too. When I saw Godspell it was a sell-out, but that was at it's peak in December of last year.
A dark theatre is sad to see, so I hope something interesting pops in soon!

Seriosuly, am I the only one who the thinks THE LION KING would be awesome there? I know the stage is too small, but still, with "The Circle of Life" and all the animals that would be sooo cool.

I know for certain (and i wish i was lying ) that Pump Boys and Dinettes is going in there in the spring directed by John Doyle. Seriously. I don't get it.
