Caissie was very, very sick. That is why she missed so many shows, and left so early into her run. I saw her twice and she was amazing in the role.

I saw Julie in Brooklyn- remember that show? Hopefully she's improved since. No one can compare to Miss Eden.

I am one of the people from the UK who is coming over from the UK to see Kerry on Broadway because I know how awesome she can be!!! Kerry is an outstanding performer and her role as Elphie has been brilliant in London for a long while, the whole of her run actually and there was a time when she never called out when she really should have still she nailed 8 shows a week. Now she was very sick before she went to NYC because she missed her last week of performances here and should probably have missed her last night even so it is hardly surprising she is still sick in NYC. Kerry has pushed herself too hard and should take a months rest and extend her contract on Broadway. Knowing how much this meant to her before she went this will be killing her, she hated not performing at the best of times and this will be no different. I feel incredibly sorry for her and only hope she takes the time she needs and then blows Broadway away as she more than has the capability and does not need people getting on her back already.

She's been ill since wayyy before May, she had to take about a week of at the very beggining of her run in London, and doesn't seem to have ever had the chance to fully recover.

I LOVE kerry, have done since long before her wicked days, but i SO wish she would leave wicked. Her voice is outstanding, imo probably the best i've ever heard, and i feel not resting it and doing such a strenous role is tearing it too shreads.

All the same, I hope she gets well soon so you guys can see how really amazing she is in proper health.

I think you are all being horrid to Kerry, at the end of the day she is human and she is ill. People that are horrible about her having the time off are the ones that make her feel so bad for having time off and then she performs when she is still ill to keep the public happy. Hence it takes her longer to recover. Just leave her alone she doesn't need to see things like this.

I tell you once she is better she will blow Broadway away even more than she already has.

"Just leave her alone she doesn't need to see things like this."

Then she shouldn't read the board. She's gotten off easy compared to some other performers who are discussed on here.

Caissie also had vocal problems during her run as Penny in Hairspray. It's definitely not something to mess around with. I hope that what it is ailing Kerry, she gets better. It's a shame she's had to miss so many performances.

I personally don't think it is nice to be horrible about any performer just cos they are ill and off. If anyone like you or me were ill you would take time off work to get better so why can't someone who is in the public eye. After all we are all human. Some people just don't have nothing better to do with their time. If you don't like Kerry then fine but just keep horrible comments to yourself.

No one is being horrible. People are just pointing out her frequent absences. In fact, many people seem overjoyed at getting to see Julie Reiber, who by the way is much, much better than Kerry Ellis anyway.

I'm overjoyed that I got to see Julie but I also was overjoyed that I got to see Kerry who IMO(when well) is one of the best Elphies I have seen(Acting and singing wise) and is one of the nicest people I have ever met at SD.

Am sorry but if Julie is better than Kerry why is Kerry the lead and Julie the understudy??? There is some reason there would you not say. As for the Kerry Ellis fan club turning up, hardly, people are just being reasonable, unlike you, cut the poor woman some slack she has come over to Broadway after all because they wanted her!!!

I really dont know how some people can be so cruel about someone.

I am coming over to New York in September to see Kerry on Broadway and I am so excited about it, its not nice to hear that she is ill, and it certainly isnt nice to read what people have written about her. She as we are all are is only human after all.

I work when I am ill, I am a live in nanny so sick days are very un heard of, but if I could I would not work, but i cant afford to have time off sick cause i dont get paid. Last year I worked with a chest infection (i had a six year old and six month old twins) so was constantly running around doing things and talking to the kids and that took it out of me so i cant imagine what it must be like to try and belt out eight shows a week!

Opinions are great, everyone has one, and everyone should be entitled to air them. I've watched this thread grow and grow, and now it's just getting silly. People are getting bent out of shape over nothing. The illness is understandable, people being not to happy about paying to see Kerry and her being off, understandable. I agree that it's not the nicest thing for a performer to read, but she would have had to read it. All things said are understandable in their own way. Kerry posting about her illness on her, not understandable. Sorry. Just my two cents.

People aren't being horible they are telling it like it is. I really don't like that you all signed up to defend Kerry when she doesn't need defending.

Agreed 100%. She doesn't need defending. The thing we have going on here are Kerry fans from the UK jumping in and taking every little thing to heart. They always do. Yet it is easy for them to say bad things about someone else who isn't Kerry. Kerry won't care that you've stuck up for her, because she's never going to read it.

Are you so naive as to actually believe that the regular performer is always better than the understudy?????? Lord, I knew we were dealing with kids in this thread, but I had no idea it was going to be like this.

That person so was not Kerry Ellis, she would never post on here

I suspect most people knew that. I would hope so, anyway.

People aren't being horible they are telling it like it is

Thank you.

It's more than a little suspicious that all of a sudden a rash of people join the board today for the express purpose of defending Kerry Ellis' horrendous attendance record. Hmmm....are gokerry, kerryrocks, and bubbleblonde all the same person??????

The horrendous attendance record is down to the illness, I don't think anyone is disputing the fact that she is genuinly ill. I think you are very right about gokerry, kerryrocks, and bubbleblonde all being the same person.

We're not all kids in this thread you know lol.

Actually you are very wrong we are not the same people at all, I joined this site today because I am coming to broadway in September and I want to see some other musicals other than wicked whilst I am there, so I thought I would join here to see what people have to say about the musicals and then decide upon what I would like to watch!

Everyone is entitled to their own opionion on things wether it be Kerry or something else. I am not stupid I know Kerry prob wont ever read this site, all I was trying to say is it is not nice to say horrible things about someone when they cant help being ill.
