I am seeing WICKED on July 19th. Who will be playing Elphaba and Glinda on this day?

He was a loser. Even Edwards on the ticket couldn't help.

Glinda should be Kendra unless she gets sick. Also, are you going to a matinée?

I don't know, personally I don't think she should've attempted that second vault. I mean, is a F*CKed up ankle really worth the gold?

Being on a Wheaties box is the highest honor a person can ever achieve.
I mean, where do you go from there?

A guest judge spot on one of many unnecessary televised talent competitions, of course.

Doctor's orders to do 6 shows a week, where did you hear this?
Basically she's been ill for a long time now and has been going on and making herself worse, and also don't forget she went from London to New York no break at all. Jet lag, new enviroment, air quality, nerves, new theatre, everything on top of each other, including still being ill, doesn't help. Its not as if she can't do 8 shows a week she clearly can, she has for ages!
I think she just needs some time to settle in to New York and get herself better first.

Your first mistake was going to the Gershwin. 'Xanadu' is playing the Helen Hayes. And the character's called Kira, not Elphaba.

"Doctor's orders to do 6 shows a week, where did you hear this? "
This very board, actually.
"and also don't forget she went from London to New York no break at all."
Not true. There was about a three week gap between her final London performance and first Broadway performance.

Jet lag doesn't last a month. She's yet to do an 8 show week on Broadway and it's been nearly a month.
" think she just needs some time to settle in to New York and get herself better first."
Again, it's been nearly a month. How much more settling time does one possibly need?

DG42694, where did you see/hear that Kerry would be out for "all" weekends?
That is like prime time for them so I think that is a huge mistake. Why wouldn't the producers make her take say Tu/Wed off or something?
I believe you, I'm just saying that this makes no sense in my head.

THIS is not true. Her final performance in London was 6/7 and her first performance in NYC was 6/17.
Cut the girl some slack...it's a hell of a role to sing. And no one got on another tour/Broadway Elphie who missed multiple shows per week on a regular basis. I'm not going to say her name because last time I did I was absolutely reamed for it.

Louie,
I agree with you. It was a little 10 day break...during which I'm sure she had to sort out her London affairs. So, I don't think that bit is fair.
Ok, now as for the other Elphie...now you know that you simply MUST name who you mean. Promise I will nto have a go at you if you do. LOL

Usually it annoys me when people make excuses constantly, but in this case it does seem pressing.
Her last performance on the West End was on the 7th.
Her first performance on Broadway was on the 17th.
That does not give her a "three week gap". 10 days tops. If you discount a few days for settling, jet lag, blah, blah...then take out a fair amount of time for rehearsing. I would assume they wouldn't have been too intense, but she was still performing and putting strain on.
She was unwell before she transferred, it clearly is something nasty to cause such an extended down time. Taking a performance or two off here and there may aid a lesser problem, but she clearly needs more time off to get back to top form. However, she isn't. So it's taking a lot longer.
She usually has great attendance. The only time she's been off when i've seen it was because she was in Chess (which I saw the next day anyway).

That actresses name was Stephanie J. Block who was very frequently out. She just has a lot of fans and defenders on this board. But, I thought her frequent absences were a bit much too.

Hannah Waddingham didn't require this much time to "settle in" when she came over to play the Lady of the Lake.

How can you even compare the role of Elphaba to the Lady of the Lake?
Totally different levels of performing intensity.
