The point, of course, is not to GET backstage but to be WELCOME backstage.
Exactly keen on kean.
I'm not encouraging ANYONE to do what we did.
While we weren't ashamed, embarrassed or embittered by what happened (we actually had fun trying), we learned our lesson.
That's why I don't stage-door. I leave actors alone to go home in peace after a hard nights work.
As I truly think everyone else should do.

Oh, I know. :) That's why I thought of giving a lap dance to people. I mean, who can resist that? LOL! Totally kidding.
As long as you are over 18, honey.

If that doesn't work you could always try baked goods. No one can resist baked goods.

Just out of curiosity, are most people more interested in meeting the cast or seeing the stage/physical aspects of the production up close?

I have been back stage at Carnegie Hall up to the conductor's dressing room on the 7th? floor. The elevator is slow. I rode up with Jeff Koons.

Eris, you don't think the spring awakening kids have done that already?

Fifth of July--I was reviewing the show for my college newspaper, talked to Richard Thomas briefly and he invited us in for a closer look at the set...all I remember are the scrambled eggs.:
Hairspray--My ex-wife used to work with the sister of CJ Hardy Philip, who's been in and out of the show as a swing and dance captain, and a brief backstage tour was arranged. My kids and I got to sit inside the big hairspray can and see a lot of the set pieces very close up. I also wandered out on stage and immediately got told by some disembodied voice to get off it.
I forgot to include "Hairspray."
Some friends and I saw the show and stopped to say hi to Tommar Wilson. He invited us backstage and we had a great chat in the wings, plus my friends took photos in front of the giant hairspray can.
Sad
I wanted so badly to get a picture of me in "The Chair" with the record.
I know Mary Louise Wilson and was invited backstage after the performance of GREY GARDENS. I had a note from her to show to the stage door guy which he checked out, particularly her signature. Then he called her dresser who came down to escort us to her dressing room. She was very gracious and funny too. On the way to her dressing room we walked by all of the cat food tins which were part of the set.
I wonder if GREY GARDENS will ever go to London or at least tour. What a show.

How did YOU out of all people pull that off?
Just DOUBT--the ex's sister is good friends with Heather.
Little Women, Les Mis Revival, The Little Mermaid and Curtains. I thought that the Little Mermaid would be amazing to go backstage at but it was not that exciting. I was disapointed by it. The sets were just kind of cramped and it just lacked the backstage magic that most shows have.
