I always read Playbill for the news and came here for the chat board. I also hate the new Playbill, the response time sucks too, so I rarely go there anymore. Hopefully, they will make changes to address what seems to be pretty consistent hate for the new release.

Count me in as another one who isn't a fan of the new Playbill. It is disappointing and they were always my go-to as their site was the easiest to read. (I also interned there as an undergrad so it was a little bit of a personal preference for me as well.) I now use BroadwayWorld the most frequently.

I use the RSS feeder Feedly and have Playbill, BroadwayWorld, Broadway.com, and the NYT Theatre section all included in it.

I actually get most of my Broadway-related news on Twitter these days; a year ago I would have laughed at that idea. This forum, too, though I haven't checked lately due to crazy changes at work. Infinite scroll has no business existing on non-social media sites...

It's a mix between trusted sources and social media. I still trust Playbill over most of the others for current and breaking news even though I don't care much for the site redesign. I supplement that with the word of mouth from this board and anything else I hear from my Facebook and Twitter feeds. Ultimately it's a soupcon and melange combined with my own feelings that drives my news and opinions.

I've been reading Playbill.com on an almost daily basis for over twenty years. It will always be the ultimate authority on theatre news, but I too HATE the new format.

I have to confess I feel a sense of loss since the website redesign of Playbill.com. I used to check it out at least daily, sometimes multiple times daily. It now has just a fraction of the value and usability for me that it had before. Reminds me of how Chowhound.com similarly succeeded in alienating it's base of frequent site visitors with its redesign.

I bookmarked playbill.com/news instead of the homepage, which is more focused on their feature stories and bigger headlines they don't refresh. The direct news page refreshes a lot more so I skip straight to that.

my twitter feed. I follow all major broadway sites (Broadway.com, BWW, Playbill, Theatermania) plus tons of people from the community and a few critics so it's impossible to miss news, bigger announcements show up many many times.
I terms of which ones I actually click on to read, my first choice is usually bway.com, then playbill. This is based on design (since I follow a direct link the complaint brought up against the new playbill don't bother me) and the way the content is presented. My issue with BWW is how many times the articles are unnecessarily long, i.e. there are 3 paragraphs about the show/actors whatnot at the end that have nothing to do with the news, e.g. a cast replacement... and I generally don't like how many of their "stories" are just fishing for clicks. I'm sorry but "Look, Idina Menzel tweeted a photo" is not a news story, and if you tweet that and don't even use said photo as the attached twitpic, that's just click-bait and it annoys me and I stay away a bit just on principle. I know they need to pay their bills but there's just too many of those kind of articles.
Like someone else said, I also really like the beginning of Broadway.com's Live At Five, it's like watching the evening news, just about Broadway! Mostly don't watch the periscope live, but either on youtube later that evening or at lunch the next day.

Forgot to mention I also have a separate list (which I add as a column in tweetdeck if I feel like it) of Broadway personalities/news sites on twitter. That way I don't have to follow ALL of them to keep track, and it's much more organized that way.
For anyone who's feeling too overwhelmed by twitter, this might be a good alternative.
