"BUT I don`t like a no-name playing Max!"
Well, you're gonna have to get used to the fact that there are TALENTED no-names out there who will play Max.
Is anyone else freaked out by the comment and user name...?

John Treacy Egan is FANTASTIC (great singer, very funny) in THE PRODUCERS and should remain in residence at the St. James for quite a while ...

I know there are talented no-names to! (I`m one of them!) but it went from Nathan Lane to a chorus member! What`s with that? Why not Richard Dreyfuss,Jason Alexander,or Kelsey Grammer? It used to be impossible to get tickets to it and now people don`t even wanna see it! If they brought in bigger names it would run longer!

Maybe people would go see it if it were an actual GOOD show. Nathan Lane was not replaced by a chorus member...so perhaps you should get your facts straight before ranting about absurd things.

I`m not saying Nathan was replaced by a chorus member first! But it WENT FROM Nathan to someone who was off-broadway in the swings of Bat Boy the exact same year it opened!!!!!!!! I like John but I just don`t want to see him in the role!
AND IT`S A FANTASTIC SHOW!!!!!!!

NathanLaneStalker- are you a n00b or a newbie?
I want to thank you for letting me know you are stalking Nathan Lane- it's something I've always been interested in, especially since I am an undercover cop.
Ok- seriously, what state of mind were you in when you created that SN?

Oof. Erm, just, well, there's supposed to be a space after the comma... Yeah. And there's nothing wrong with a replacement not being a name, that means that the show is strong without having to do stunt-casting...

John Tracey Egan is a brilliant MAX.
He was Franz and a cover for Max before this.
And remember you gotta start somewhere!

So do you have a problem with Brad Oscar in the role too? Or all the other talented Broawday vets who have stepped up to take on the Nathan Lane mantle?
Cause they tried "star" casting and a fresh approach before. Henry Goodman and Richard Dreyfuss. Neither quite worked out!
Although I am sure Richard Kind was fabulous just that he himself noted that he didnt have the vocal stamina. And Jason Alexander doesnt count cause that was LA

SweetQintheLights and anyone else who wants to know- MY USERAME IS A JOKE!!!!!! JUST FOR FUN!!!!!!! COME ON!!!!!! I wouldn`t go through all the trouble to stalk someone. I have better things to do!
The only reason I didn`t like Brad Oscar in the role was because he originated the role of Franz and....well....he was good but.....I liked him as Franz better.
Same w/Roger Bart
Richard Dreyfuss never got to play the role. He was going to originate it in London but he slipped a disk in his back and Nathan Lane stepped in for him.

According to Nathan, Richard Dreyfuss just could not handle the demands of the role.

If you look at the box office grosses, although it isn't selling like it used to, it isn't doing horribly. You're speaking as if it will close in a couple of weeks.

...and Roger Bart would come back to the show...I know some migh say "not again" but I cannot get enough his LEO. The show is like a huge family and I just want to enjoy as is. If they leave, good for them, if not, also good for them. (Sorry, a bit off-topic but you guys were talking about The Producers so much...)
