When you see a Broadway show, is there a day of the week you prefer to see the show on i.e. actors are usually on fire this night, the audience is small/large this night, etc.? Or see the show only on someone's first or final performances? Just curious
I go when it fits my schedule.
I read an article once about this subject... I can't remember when and where....it said, " Never see a show on a tuesday, The performers are coming back from a day off and are cold. A Wednesday Matinee or a Thursday evening performance are the best. Friday night is good, Saturdays and Sundays tend to be more touristy and shows tend not to be so spot on due to the weariness of the cast.
Not sure if it is always true or not but it seems to make sense.
P.S. I seem to remember the article siting Patrick Stewart, believe me I may very well be wrong.

I've always preferred seeing a show after it's opened and preferably with the original cast.
I've heard more than one performer say they actually feel like their last show before their day off is their best/favorite because they feel like they can just totally let go and give it all they have since they have rejuvenation on it's way.
Whenever it fits in my schedule, especially if an understudy or a new cast member is on. I never really had the choice of seeing original casts before, so now I do if I can, but it's not a dealbreaker.
On a two-show day, I prefer to see the matinee, as the actors may be more energetic and "on" in their first performance than their second. My personal favorite day to see a show is Sunday--I find it the perfect way to end (or start off, depending how you look at it) my week. I love going to a Sunday matinee, then having a nice drink or dinner with friends. It motivates me to get back to the grind on Monday morning.
