Going in NYC in a few weeks ("Falsettos", "Natasha...", "Color Purple", "School of Rock" & already planning early April trip too. Got "Saigon" tix for Sat day (April 8th) "Dolly" tix for that evening. Keeping Friday night open* but was looking for a Sunday matinee before flying home. None of the shows I was considering have Sunday performances. "...Chocolate Factory," "Saigon," and "Anastasia" were all Sunday-free (at least for April). Seems odd. Is that a new trend?
*Any updates on Close's "Sunset Blvd' chances of a spring run in New York this spring?
That does seem slightly odd. Maybe it has been blocked out for Tony voters? I haven't seen or heard of it being done before.
Double Post.
No, not blocked out for Tony voters. The number of voters wouldn't fill up most theaters once, yet as line all of them.
Are the shows you are looking at showing 8 shows without a Sunday matinee?l
I think it's more a trend of shows in previews, like the ones you mention in early April, to either have truncated schedules or do they first few weeks Mon-Sat. I think the only exception is Miss Saigon, which is Mon-Sat its entire run.
I think they're mostly 8 shows still... seem to be more Monday shows than in the past.
ANY news in the pipeline about Sunset Blvd for spring? ![]()

Was mentioned in a thread that someone believed it had booked the Palace... Not sure when the run is rumored to start...
Our fall NYC weekend was a couple of weeks ago (Comet, Falsettos, Color Purple, and School of Rock), and getting our April trip set up. Planning on War Paint for Fri eve, April 7, and already have Miss Saigon for Sat matinee, Hello Dolly for Sat eve, and Sunset Blvd for Sunday matinee. ANY potential Sunday evening shows coming up?
We got tickets for the Barrow St. Sweeney Todd for our Sunday night slot.

Just answer someone above, previews rarely have Sunday shows, unless it's a special performance. Most if not all will switch to Sunday when they open.

Can't you flip one of your other shows that have a Sunday show? Telecharge is pretty good about exchanges like that...
Looking specifically for a Sunday evening show... Good to know about Sweeney, but I think my husband is done after the 7-8 other ST performances I've dragged him to. haha
As far as Fri eve, War Paint is probably my choice (Audience Rewards presale about to start), but Amelie, Groundhog Day, Anastasia and (less so) Charlie/Chocolate are also tempting. None have a Sunday evening option, so that's out.
