I actually wonder if Amelie would take Circle in the Square. I think it would be a perfect place for them. The film that it is based off is supposed to be quirky and surrealistic, and I think the design team would come up with something magical using a "in-the-round" space.
Keep in mind Amelie is doing it's out of town tryout at the Ahmanson in Los Angeles which is a proscenium house. It seems unlikely they would go to the expense of throwing out all that scenery to stage it in the round…

I'm gonna go out on a whim here and say they won't be using the same exact scenery pieces from Ahmanson on their Broadway stage...
^yeah. The fun home staging was completely different from off-Broadway to Broadway. They may save set pieces for future tours.
Don't think Amelie would go that route regardless. Most shows don't transfer to the Circle.
Fun Home started at a not-for-profit, and then later after it was a critical hit transferred to Broadway. Amelie is from the get go a commercial theater offering. It would be a very poor producer who would create a production budget that required financing a completely new set from its out of town try out.

Again, war paint has the Nederlander after Motown.
I hadn't heard Bandstand was DOA.
Has anyone seen it?
Thoughts?

Where did you hear that?
Also, Harry Potter needs a theatre too.
Once it gets good reviews here in London, it will announce a Broadway transfer fo sure.

From someone with knowledge.
You've been attacking it since it announced transfer, how convenient that you've heard it's dead.

Ah, the old "someone with knowledge" alibi.

and what about Anastasia?
Could Harry Potter take the Lyric after Paramour? It's much bigger than the Palace, but they won't have trouble selling and it belongs to ATG who are selling part of the tickets in London...
Too big a house for a play, it will get swamped in there, I would feel somewhere like the August Wilson would be a perfect fit. If it gets good reviews in London and that isn't certain, but if it did, you would have the 3 major theatre owners vying to get it into one of their houses.

^ I think you're underestimating the popularity of Harry Potter. They sold out all of their performances in London until next year, I don't see them opting for a small house on Broadway anytime soon.
