Coming to the city in Jan. for a long week-end. Already have seats for Spider-Man, Verge, and closing night of N2N. Have 2 spots left and am having a hard time deciding between the following (please help):
Driving Miss D, Scottsboro Boys, or Elling?
Thank you

I haven't seen any of them but based on what a friend told me, he loved Scottsboro Boys and Elling. They are the two I would see. I know Driving Miss Daisy has two great actors in it but it is the least of the three I would see. And I saw Jones in "Robeson" way back in the late 70's.

Posted: 11/21/10 at 8:52amI agree: The Scottsboro Boys is NOT to be missed. However, I haven't seen either of the other two but from OTHER'S opinions: Elling. (

I'm not as big a fan of SCOTTSBORO as most other folks here seem to be, but between these three... I'd probably see it again.

don't leave New York without seeing Scottsboro boys!!!
I've seen Elling, but not Miss Daisy, and I wouldn't necessarily recommend Elling. So there you have that

Posted: 11/21/10 at 11:36amI've seen all three. And I say Scottsboro and Elling. Driving miss daisy is noting special, and will be around again eventually. Elling is quite funny and unique.

I agree with (most) everyone. do not miss THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS.
Here's an endorsement: I had a press comp for Wednesday's performance, and after seeing it went and bought another ticket for tonight! Yes, it was THAT good.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

Posted: 11/21/10 at 5:38pmI hated Scottsboro, but not as much as Elling. If you MUST choose 2 from that list, go with Driving Miss Daisy and Scottsboro.
