Now you are on Matt's **** list.
FishermanBob, Frat Boy Le Douche only saw Wicked TWELVE times. Get it right, man.
I remember everyone crapping all over Rocky & Big Fish but Once should be immune to any criticism.I think not.
The Fisherman saw Wicked 12 times? This explains a lot.
"FishermanBob, Frat Boy Le Douche only saw Wicked TWELVE times. Get it right, man."
Sutton, Sutton, Sutton, my dearest Sutton...12 times in London PLUS one time in Singapore and one time on Broadway = 14.
OMFG, that's so sad. Jesus Christ.
My mistake though!
Why are you so sad? I have old Bob on ignore.
Once was even worse
Worse than what if I may be so bold to ask.
Both dull and dreary but if there is a contest for the worst? If Then Wins.

japhun2: I'm sorry that "Once" didn't have the excitement and emotional resonance for you of such West End classics as "The Bodyguard," "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost."
Roxy, he informed me the OP had seen Wicked 14 times, I only counted 12, but he confirmed it was, in fact, 14 times. I thought that was pretty sad!
Ouch That was a low blow Lucy.
Sutton Wicked 14 times ? Methinks The Wicked Witch cast a spell on him forcing him to see it over & over again. My heart goes out to him.
Sutton, I still don't think old Roxy gets it that I'm not the one who saw Wicked 14 times. I do feel bad for Roxy though. Senility is a rough deal.
Once is infinitely easier to sleep through than Violet!
Thanks for all the feedback! Have enjoyed reading these and got a good laugh! :)
I know this is off topic, but do you think that production of Urinetown will have a recording? Or does it and I just missed it's release?
I did not see Violet, but saw the US tour of Once and was enthralled by it. Was really moved and am so happy that it won the tony for best musical. It has it's flaws, but it is still a great show and us infinitely better than many other shows that are or were on Broadway (In the Heights, Lion King, Billy Elliot)
I haven't seen Once, but Violet was pretty weird. I really liked the beginning, and the ending actually got me really emotional, however the middle of the show is just plain bad IMO. The Tulsa stuff was really strange and there was like a 50 minute preacher number that lasted WAY to long. I thought it was also really weird how she was kinda flirting with both of the boys, and slept with one of them like the heck?? I really liked how they didn't use any makeup to show the scar; they did this to represent the scars that we keep inside, and it was beautiful how she found peace at the end (i actually started crying). Sutton Foster was fantastic!! Great premise, however, the show was pretty bad.
Japhun2, pay no mind to the people that try to shoot you down for posting something like this. If we can talk about things that we liked, we can absolutely discuss things that weren't so good.
I really enjoyed Once and I think Violet is a beautiful show. Didn't think anything about it was weird at all. A girl flirts with two men on a road trip. She has sex with one of them and falls in love with the other. Sounds like a day in the life of America. What may seem weird is that it didn't occur in a matter of a couple of hours like it does in thousands of bars on any given Saturday night.
What a mean spirited thread. Guess your the kind of person who would ask "which baby is uglier?"
2 words sum up mean spirited:
Ben Brantley
I really enjoyed Once. I wouldn't say Violet was bad, but I wasn't particularly enthralled.

Roxy, does that mean that when you don't agree with Brantley, he's "mean spirited?" And is everyone on the baord who doesn't agree with you "mean spirited?" Or is it just an excahnge of opinions?
Lucy...I never saw Ghost. But as crap as I heard it was, it was probably still more entertaining than Once.
Such touchy people on here! haha... and Ben Brantley is still the only reviewer that ANYONE cares about. Mean-spirited? Maybe. Relevant? Definitely.
About a possible Urinetown West End recording...I would LOVE if that happened? I saw it at the St. James Theatre here in London before its West End transfer and it was SENSATIONAL.
