Though I do feel that SOUTH PACIFIC is in almost every way a glorious production and YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN a pretty bloated affair, I do think Stroman should have picked up a best choreo nom. for YF. There's next to no dancing in SP, and when it did happen, I thought it was the only weak link in the evening.
Even the funky movement in PASSING STRANGE would be more appropriate for a nom.
But it doesn't REALLY matter since it's sure to be a duel between Rob Ashford and Andy Blankenbuehler (who is also a terrific performer, as he appeared with Kristin Chenowith in concert last week in Chicago.)
I was hoping Cheyenne and Mary would be nominated
I wish "The Farnsworth Invention" hadn't been completely shut out. I really dug it.
"The Farnsworth Invention" definitely, that show was brilliant. Norbert Leo Butz in "Is He Dead?", definitely. Mary Testa/Jackie Hoffman of Xanadu. I would've liked to see Alli Mauzey get nominated, though I wouldn't say she was robbed.
I was robbed! 44th year in a row!!!!!
Mario's arms deserved a nom.
Don't worry, PJ. They'll resurrect best replacement next year, and she'll get it for playing Leslie Kritzer as Patti LuPone as Rose when Patti leaves "Gypsy."
I also think that the abs of one King Triton should have been nominated!
The Bodega in In The Heights was robbed three times, oooooooh you mean nomination wise.

I am so happy for In The Heights! And so sad for A Catered Affair. But for Nick Blaemire, I am so happy that Cry Baby! got those nominations. And, most of all, I am very happy that that piece of dreck Young Frankenstein received what it really deserved-nominations for Chris and Andrea and the set.
All in all, a great list of nominations. Congrats to all the nominees. Good luck on June 15th.
passing strange and young frankenstein for lighting design
I'm suprised that Young Frankenstein didn't get as many as I thought it would. although I'm happy Chris Fitzgerald and Andrea Martin got noms

All the potential nominees who got snubbed this year...makes me wonder if it's worth watching the telecast this year.
-- "I am also suprise that Sherie Rene Scott did not get one either (She was the best thing about The Little Mermaid)"
Yeah, but that's not sayin' much.
(Not to mention that I completely disagree. Not only was the show a piece of ****, Sherie is **** in it)
Cheyenne Jackson was definitely robbed.
The notion that Young Frankenstein was robbed is really cute.
i agree with cheyenne and leslie kritzer. i also think sierra boggess. i didnt like crybaby at all.
in the heights so psyched they got those 13 nominations....I <3 WH !!!!!!!!!!!!
Testing-I thought she had the nod too.

Cheyenne Jackson was robbed. And I can't believe Mary Testa or Jackie Hoffman weren't nominated.
And Rupert Goold.

Ciaran Hinds and David Morse for THE SEAFARER. Splendid performances from both. Easily preferable to Rufus Sewell in ROCK AND ROLL, that monument to tedium.

None of these should be a surprise ! If you don't realize the tony's are and always will be political bs and not based on quality then youre new to this world . Lets face it Mel pissed people off and crybaby did not !! It has abosolutely nothing to do with how the shows are . Its a shame thats how it is .. All the Mel bashers should be happy . Just curious who the next target will be . Can't wait for spiderman . The beginning of the end .Mabey they'll do Ironman next. Broadway is becoming just a source of money for cheap, greedy producers and not a thing of art and inspiration . Its a sad state of affairs .
I agree with everyone, Cheyenne Jackson was definitely robbed! But as far as I'm concerned, Young Frankenstein got everything it deserved. The set, Christopher, and Andrea. Thank God they didn't get a Best Musical nomination. I must say I was floored when I saw that they didn't...the Tonys finally did something right.
I guess Foster does not want to respond to my comments about LLD.... Tis Okay, We move on and move forward.
But I actually really liked Sherie Rene Scott in Mermaid... I have to admit, I found it enjoyable. It was not BRILLIANCE and compared to other things I have seen worthy of dozens of awards but some of it was really great... And too bad that cute kid who played Flounder did not get nominated only for out belting Sherie in that "She's in Love" song...
