I had this dream once where I went to see a production of The Last 5 Years with Patrick Wilson as Jamie. Ever since then, I've been kind of obsessed with hearing him sing the role.
Jwei mentioned the Jewish Altar Boy, and I completely agree - David Josefberg would be phenominal in the role as well.
Cathy-wise, I'd love to see Lauren Kennedy. I'd also love to hear Jenna Leigh Green sing the part.

MTVMANN, you mentioned Idina singing the part, I agree. Singing only. I suggested her playing the part to a friend of mine and he brought up a great point she's "too Jewish." And then it hit me "Duh, Jaime wants a girl who's not Jewish."
She gets thrown out a lot for playing Elphaba, but I think Caren Lyn Manuel would be a nice Cathy. And I'm also game for Gavin Creel as Jaime.

Jamie: Michael Arden, Raul Esparza.
Potentially Hunter Foster, but as amazing as some of the songs would sound I fear for some of the others.
What about JRB himself? I don't know how well he can act, though.
