Sherie and Adam Pascal. Maybe Adam's voice isn't right, but it would sure look nice.
"This table, he is over one hundred years old. If I could, I would take an old gramophone needle and run it along the surface of the wood. To hear the music of the voices. All that was said." - Doug Wright, I Am My Own Wife
I just saw the George Street Playhouse production of this with Sarah Litzsinger and Colin Hanlon and I have to say he was phenomenal...I also loved Sarah. They were both wonderful. It was a beautiful production. But I am still partial to Sherie and The Butz. But these two gave them a run for their money.
"Because what is more like love than the ocean? You can play in it, drown in it. It can be clear and bright enough to hurt your eyes, or covered in fog; hidden behind a curve of road, and then suddenly there in full glory. Its waves come like breaths, in and out, in and out, body stretched to forever in its possibilities, and yet its heart lies deep, not fully knowable, inconceivably majestic."

i'd love to see sherie and norbert - its such a great original team i can't think of anyone else to replace them!!
"Nothing is an accident, We are free to have it all, We are what we want to be, It's in ourselves to rise or fall!!" - "Fortune Favors the Brave" from Aida - the love that never died
I disagree actually, Norbert and Sherie are now too old for it - they've matured too much physically. Butz certainly looks a lot older, as does Sherie a little. I think it needs to be played by actors whose careers are just kicking off in their mid-twenties.
No one will ever replace Scott and Butz, but I would like to see Lauren Kennedy (who originated the role out of town) and Neil Patrick Harris give it a try.
i agree with the "no one can replace nobert and sherie" sentiment.
they were so perfect. i can't think of anyone who could hit those notes with the ease that sherie does or could put as much fun into the character as norbert.
sure, they've matured a little, but that wouldn't stop me from seeing the show if they ran it with the same cast again.
"grace, you're stuffed in a box getting rid of ass plaque. let's face it, this evening is a bust."
I can't really picture it with anyone else...well I mean I can't think of people at the moment that could fill their shoes..hmmm..
"You won't fight without layers of armor
Suit on up and come brace my sword
You look back when the pieces are missing
Hollowed out hope that no time can restore."
My loyalities tend towards Sherie and Norbert, but if we're talking dream pairs: (and by the title, I sense that we are)
Anthony Rapp and Beth Damiano (That's me, I'm Beth)
What? We said dreaming, right?

2. Great buckets of Spoffnor, they're going to sing!
3. "I love shrubs that are historical." -Johnny and The Sprites

5. "The best moments in reading are when you come across something - a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things - which you had thought special and particular to you. And now, here it is, set down by someone else, a person you have never met, someone even who is long dead. And it is as if a hand has come out, and taken yours." -The History Boys
6. "Pass the parcel. That's sometimes all you can do. Take it, feel it and pass it on. Not for me, not for you, but for someone, somewhere, one day. Pass it on, boys. That's the game I want you to learn. Pass it on." -The History Boys
"The stage is where I live and come alive and act out all the things that go on in my life. It's not just what I do for a living, it's my shrink and my love affair. No one in my life has ever or ever will kiss me on the mouth like this lover called my relationship with my performance."
Though with the extra weight, Norbert does look a little older now than he did in LFY, I don't think Sherie looks any older. The two of them were wonderful individually and as a team in this show and they made a strong piece even stronger with their work. I think it would be pretty hard to top them in these roles.
Well I'm very fond of the originals and Lauren Kennedy who I also count as an original but other than that...
Cathy- Lisa Brescia, Kate Shindle, Rachel York, a younger Jane Krakowski, Sutton Foster, a younger Marin Mazzie, and maybe with some more vocal training, Nicole Kidman? (a little crazy but imagine what she could bring to the role acting-wise)
Jamie- Raul Esparza, Brian D'Arcy James, Malcolm Gets, Harry Connick Jr?
