Well, Rossum is young, and Wilson and Butler are terribly sexy...
As for the original thread; I'd say none of the above. I grew up listening to Sarah Brightman, and I do consider her a superior Christine to Emmy Rossum, but I wouldn't say I strictly enjoyed listening to her. I have yet to find a Christine I actively enjoy listening to.
And to the people who're saying "OMG my friends are younger than Emmy Rossum and can totally sing those high notes! Higher, even!"; big deal. I could sing those notes and higher when I was younger than 17 as well. Young people tend to have higher-pitched voices than fully matured adults. It takes training and practice to still be able to hit those notes as you get older though. I'm not sure I could get the top notes in 'Carmina Burana' anymore, but they were no problem whatsoever back when I was a teen. Maybe if I'd stuck with my choirs instead of moving around the country I'd be okay. *shrugs*
Emmy. Although her voice isn't perfect and needs a lot of work, Sarah Brightman's vibrato is way to heavy and just sounds odd. Plus, from the clips I've seen, her attempts at acting(bugging her eyes out) are worse than Emmy. But neither of them are the worst Christines', that honor goes to Rebecca Pitcher, the wench who ruined the stage show for me.
Emmy Rossum is not "singing" on that film. Her voice is produced beyond any real way to judge her talents, which was probably for the best, since watching her sing on the film leads me to believe she doesn't know the first thing about singing (despite her "Met" credit). Her mouth is too spread, her technique is horrible and it's obvious she knows nothing about singing.
At least Brightman is a trained voice, if not the prettiest voice in the world.
I hate how people just say "Oh yeah, I can sing" and think they don't need any training (That goes for all of you teeny boppers out there who think because you can belt you can sing...wrong)

ATTENTION FANS: I will be played by James Barbour in the upcoming musical, "BroadwayWorld: The Musical."
I would have to say Sarah. I really didn't like anyone from the movie all too much... I grew up listening to Sarah like many here did, and she IS Christine in my opinion. Since she is the original, I really compare every Christine I see to her. There are others who play Christine I like as well, but Emmy is not one of them.
And you think of all of the things you've seen, and you wish that you could live in between ,and you're back again only different than before...
