But instead, they seem to be getting more aggressive and that’s worrisome too. A fan evidently followed Aaron Tveit to his car after last night’s show looking for an autograph. This person even took a very awkward photo of he and Ericka sitting in the vehicle. Even if they were unfazed by the request, it was invasive."

This kind of stuff wasn't even okay before the pandemic.

You will insist on selfies at the stage door?  Yup, stage-dooring is CREEPY.

Chose to go out the other exit at Caroline or Change to be closer to the subway. Just one barricade with a few people behind it but I don't know if they were just friends/family. A far cry from the tons of people gathered around the stage door when I saw Jennifer Nettles' last performance in Waitress.

Although I've never been a fan of stagedooring, I don't think the practice in itself is 'creepy'. However IMO there's been a subgroup of fans that has been growing over the years who seem to think that the real show starts at the stage door & that actors owe them some kind of interaction there. These are usually the same people who demand pictures, selfies & autographs from cast members.

I've always felt an actor's obligation to the audience ends when the curtain falls after curtain call. That's it. In non-pandemic times if cast members are kind and gracious enough to exchange a few words or whatever after the show, great. Consider it a bonus.

In today's world, with Broadway currently in survival mode it seems especially foolhardy and selfish for theater fans to try and get photos or autographs when everyone's doing their damnedest to try and stay safe and healthy in order to keep these shows running.

I have never stagedoored.  I also have difficulty intruding upon an actor's space when I see them on the street.  A few weeks ago, I saw Mornings at Seven on a Tuesday evening.  The next day I went in for a matinee and I was walking up 9th Ave around 12:30 and saw Tony Roberts walking right towards me.  I knew he was on his way to work and I didn't say anything.  I regret not at least saying "Hey great performance last night and BTW Xanadu is an all-time favorite for me" but you just never know what kind of space someone is in.

"Mr Roxy can take insults and hit back, sometimes in an absolutely humorous way. The man can take a joke, which is why I dig him. The *other* senior is the worst kind of person meaning he can't take a joke and isn't funny. In my opinion of course.

Roxy COME BACK!!!!! #BIDEN2020 "

I was checking to see if Mr. Roxy had posted in a while, he had not responded to a couple of PM's I sent him quite a while ago. One of them was to thank him for recommending a book to me that I eventually read, and it was excellent. I came upon this thread/post in a search, and it seems he has not posted in quite a while. Due to his age and I believe he was not in the best of health; I fear he may no longer be with us. I would love to be wrong, but we may never find out. Love him or hate him, Mr. Roxy was one of a kind and never boring.
