Who will be the next EGOT?

Posted: 6/23/10 at 10:52pmAs a performer, a while from now, John Gallagher, Jr. might have a chance if he can cross over to film & TV; he did a pretty good job in his L&O:SVU episode.. If he ever has a chance at an album, he can actually sing & play rather than the cop-out route of a spoken word album or producing an album. IMHO.

Posted: 6/23/10 at 11:10pmHe actually does have a Grammy for the Spring Awakening Cast Recording. If I am not mistaken all performers on the CD get one. Updated On: 6/23/10 at 11:10 PM

According to wikipedia (I know, I know), only the producer and composer gets a grammy award for a cast recording.

I was going to say, I REALLY don't think the cast of the Grammy winning best cast recording gets a Grammy win credit OR a statue. Could you imagine?

Posted: 6/24/10 at 12:13amI think I made the mistake since I thought I saw a picture of the Jersey Boys cast holding of what I thought were Grammys.

Posted: 6/24/10 at 10:43amI feel like Marc Shaiman's EGOT is only a matter of time, possibly a few years. Considering how much work he does, if he does one great score or composes one great song for a film, he'll be honored.

Posted: 6/24/10 at 11:25amComposers can win an Emmy by just writing one good dirty song for a TV show. I mean, Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg won an Emmy for "Dick in a Box!" Sarah Silverman won for "I'm F*CKing Matt Damon!"

Justin Timberlake was on Letterman and Fallon this week, promoting his new movie, and when they mentioned he has 4 Emmys I thought of this thread.
He has 6 Grammys, 4 Emmys, and he's starring on 3 movies this year (and he did a good job on "The Social Network"). Also, last month there were some rumors that he could go to Broadway on "A Time to Kill". I think he's a good candidate for an EGOT.

Kate Winslet. The list posted on page 1 is missing her, but all she needs is the Tony. She won the Oscar for The Reader, a Grammy for Spoken Word Children's Album and just won the Emmy for Mildred Pierce.
Get her to the stage!

Hugh Jackman --- Record his one-man show live on CD and give him a Grammy for that. Then give him an Oscar for Les Mis or some other movie he does. This man deserves it. And give him another Tony while he's at it.
Alan Rickman --- He doesn't have any awards yet (and his only nominations are for Tonys). But give him an Oscar for the final Harry Potter, Tony for Seminar, Grammy for recording some audiobook, and Emmy (maybe as SNL host? Or as a guest on a show?)

I was thinking of Hugh Jackman, SondheimFan.
Speaking of Sondheim, does he have an EGOT yet? I'd think he might be in the running.

Posted: 10/30/11 at 6:35pmCurtain- cher would never do broadway at this point sadly, her best bet would be to do a one woman show like chita riveria, but only get her to do it in a paticularly sparse year say 2013, and with the right songs and a great book collaborater it could happen. But i doudt she'd be intrested.

Whoopi's Tony is for producing, for example, so not all the EGOT winners got their awards for performing alone.
In other words, Cher could produce a Broadway show, and, should it win the Tony, she could get her "T" for that.
And correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Rita Moreno the only living EGOT winner with competitive awards exclusively for performing?
