In the end, most roles go to Jayne Houdyshell...

I assume it will close.

Susan Blackwell
Brilliant!
Brilliant!

Susan Blackwell would be great, but I know she is very very picky about what she goes to perform in. She has strong anxiety and stage fright issues and has talked about how she has to feel comfortable with her cast and crew. I don't see her being comfortable around 20 kids, no matter how well those tykes may be.

Unfortunately I think it's going to close too.

My best guess would be "no one". Unless they can get a "name" to get through through the holiday season I say they're done after Jane Lynch leaves.

Does it have to be the Hannigan actresses? They could cast a nobody as Hannigan and (if there is an up contract or someone is willing to leave) and bring in a big star for Grace or even Annie (any of the little girls on the Disney Channel might be able to drop in).

I just don't get all the Beth Leavel appeal. Not a lot of range or depth -- it's always the same performance no matter the show or the acceptance speech. Oh well.
If they want (and need) a name, heaven forbid it be Debra Messing.

Is it just continually losing money? Is that why everyone assumes it'll close? I always figured they got 1 or 2 more 'star names' for Hannigan before it closed. I figured they'd make it through the holiday season, and wrap up in the New Year. Guess everyone seems to say the shows done with.

Jackie Hoffman would get me to pay full price.
In the realm of "star names" the following could be likely candidates
-Rosie O'Donnell
-Kathie Lee Gifford (which could just work)

I hope it doesn't close...even though I'm not really a fan of the story I feel that Annie is a great show for families right now on Broadway and it features a pretty talented cast.

Kathie Lee played the role at MSG.
Rosie O'Donnell would be a disaster. She just doesn't fit the sexier edge that has returned to the role for this production, and her singing is painful. Jane actually made it work.
Jackie Hoffman might not have overt sex appeal, but my god, she'd be phenomenal.
