bjh2114, this is my first time on these message boards and I'm really suprised at how crabby you are. Congratulations, your show won best musical. Let all the "Chaperone" and "Sweeney" fans be a little sad. But I'm intrigued by your dislike of "Q". I was thrilled to death that it won - the show made me laugh and cry, far more than "Wicked". Why didn't you think it deserved the prize?
Sorry, I don't mean to be crabby. Just to be clear, I loved Drowsy and JB. I would have been happy either way, but I feel JB was slightly superior. Basically, I am just sick of people complaining when it's not as though BAD shows won. You can't say Pajama Game wasn't a good show. And I personally believe we are all here to support good theatre. That's why it sucks that you can only give one award out in each category (unless a tie occurs of course). I just think people need to be happy for the winners regardless. I mean, I am FURIOUS that Samuel Barnett and Rob Ashford lost, but you don't see me bitching about that. I just say "Well, I guess the Tony voters didn't agree with me here". Sorry if I seemed bitchy.
As far as Q, I just think it's so overrated. Some of the music is funny, but the dialogue between songs is pretty lame if you go back and look at it. I am not saying Wicked should have won. Personally, from everything I hear about Caroline or Change, it should have taken Best Musical, but I wasn't fortunate enough to see it.
"But let's not bulls**t ourselves with excuses." Are you ****ting me? Thats what you've been doing all over this board. Making a snippy prickish comment, and then when someone calls you out on it you make an excuse.
Atleast you didn't mean to be so crabby. It's a bit more understandable if you can't control it, I suppose.
Oh please!!! You are the one actively TRYING to be mean. My original comment towards you was a joke. Some people just have no sense of humor. Also, I'm not making excuses, I am making a statement that I think would be wise for everyone on this board to follow. The big message..."GROW UP!"
Of course, you don't know me but you can make an open ended comment at me claiming "no sense of humor." maybe when you realized your overly dry "joke" was taken wrong you should have manned up and said, "hey it was a joke sorry" instead of bitching back. I know my attitude surely would have changed, maybe I'd even laugh it off.
You're no better than the rest of us, your **** stinks to you know. Updated On: 6/12/06 at 02:29 AM
For the record, I did say it was a joke. But, I am not one to be attacked unfairly without saying something back. Perhaps you should go back and look at the sequence of events.
I went back and looked at the sequence of events, I still think I'm you're the prick. But oh well, thanks to my sixteen year old sister who pointed out how much we sound like twelve year olds. I'm done on the note that.....we're both too dry, too hard headed, and too self centered to agree that either of us is right. We BOTH overreacted and thats apparant.
Agreed. Treuce? I must say, by the way, that I rather enjoy your avatar. What could be better then Wayne Brady strangeness crossed with Rent? Ah, love it.

The irony would be if the producers of "Jersey Boys" having won only because the road producers wanted a show they could sell, instead betrayed the road and went straight to Vegas, like Avenue Q. I cannot think of a single show in the last ten years that would do so well in Vegas as Jersey Boys.
And even if it doesn't sell out, it should be interesting to see how the show does in the hinterlands. I can just imagine some of the comments about a show about fur guys from New Jersey in some of the red states. And then h=there's that fact that, without the amazing little man they have playing Frankie Vallie, the show would not be anywhere near as arresting as it is. Like Bob Martin in Drowsy, John Lloyd Young makes that show for me.
