Why Isn't For Colored Girls On Sale Yet?

Playbill lists the on sale date as July 19. The official website for the show is now totally blank. They start previews in like less than a month, supposedly. Anybody know what's going on?

I was hoping to see it in the fall. I read it and saw the original production when it was aired on TV. Plus I was looking forward to seeing India.Arie. She still has the announcement that she is doing the show on the front page of her website and on her blog.

It isn't a shocker to me to hear that this isn't comming. One would have thought that with the show scheduled to start previews so soon that they would have had the marquee up a long time ago. Alas, the marquee for the circle in the square is still the one for the theatre school instead of any particular show.

Too Darn Hot, considering the fact that you have ZERO credibility on this forum why should I care or believe for that matter anything you have to say. That being said, however much time I spend on this or any website doesn't a shouldn't matter to you. If I want to spend a lot of time on this website fine. Shouldn't bother anyone. I have just as much of a right to spend as much time as I want. Just as much as you have a right to lie constently whilst on this forum.

We don't know for sure. Someone on another threat thougth that so they posted it. According to her blog Dandridge said that she was in fact leaving Rent to do another Broadway show. However, she never said which one.

I thought I remembered reading that Merle Dandridge is doing Spamalot after Rent.

Smaxie, that was what was going to happen had she stayed with Rent till the end. The original plan was that she was going to be in the closing cast of Rent and then a month later join the cast of Spamalot as Lady Of The Lake. However, in her blog that talked about her leaving Rent early. She had said that she was going to be in another show right after she left Rent and before Spamalot. However, she didn't say which one. My guess is that it would have been "Colored Girls" which I think seemed like a bad choice because it looks like the show isn't going to happen. But, it was never said by her or anything offical that she was going into "For Colored Girls." So that is just a guess.

And, Foster would it honestly kill you to not be a total douche bag for 10 seconds?

I don't think that this show was going to be a limited run. However, given the fact that they were going to have Inde.Arie headline in the thing I don't know.

What I do know is that they did take down the splash page on their website and considering that the show would have started previews already there isn't any marquees or posters put up at Circle In The Square.

I guess this show isn't happening.
