I love this show so much. I'd much rather see this again than something like Hamilton. I saw that, it was fine, no need to see it again. But I could go back and have fun at On Your Feet every day and be happy.

^Oh, I absolutely do not deny that Audra would have gotten in over Ana, but in my ideal world, I would have loved to see Ana be nominated for her performance. I'm not that delusional, Queen Audra is Queen Audra.

....you have clearly not seen the show. The choreography is incredible...Any other year I think Sergio Trujillo would have that category in the bag.
Also, just out of curiosity I looked up their grosses....they're almost consistently making $1 mill a week. Yeah last week wasn't good, but the show is just as much a hit as Waitress, SOR, Shuffle, etc. It's surprising that it doesn't get that attention.
I really wonder what's next for Ana Villafane. She's a fantastic actress, and probably can take on a much more difficult score with the right musical director. She's proven that she can carry a show on her back.

I agree with those on here who say that Gloria's comments were not negative. I saw most of the shows that were nominated this year though and I do think OYF should have received a few more nominations. For starters, as most have said, Ana was spectacular as Gloria, although I will say that she loses momentum after the accident and plays Gloria's recovery as effortless, which I think is a big part of why she did not end up getting nominated. I personally agree that Phillipa Soo's nomination should have been in the Featured category but I do think that if she hadn't been nominated, the slot would have definitely gone to Audra and not Ana. All in all, we had a fantastic year of strong performances by leading actresses, so I'm not going to complain about who did and didn't deserve a nomination because every actress I saw this year did a stellar job and the ladies who did end up getting nominated all earned their spots.
I also thought Andrea Burns was fantastic as Gloria's mother. Her Mi Tierra number steals the first act and I'm surprised more people don't think she was snubbed. I also thought the lighting warranted a nomination. Oh well, the show is doing very well and that in itself is a major accomplishment these days.
