Given how much cash they’ve made from Broadway, they should be doing more to give back. They don’t do $hit to help get other composers work on.  They should be paying it forward by cultivating new theater writers especially new composers. But no, they just take take and take.  They either contribute to the broader community, or I want them out.  And they better not even THINK about bringing in that horrible cheap and ugly looking production of Beauty and the Beast in.

Oh Sutton, Disney hires new composers all the time to work on their films and theme park shows and rides. But of course you already know this. For stage, they have such a massive number of intellectual properties that there is no need for them to look elsewhere. But of course you already know this too, Sutton. And I’m 100% certain that you have not seen the Beauty and the Beast tour and are just spouting more of your nonsense. Carry on, Ms. Ross.

Disney Theatrical has also quietly made investments in a number of non-Disney Broadway shows, without taking credit.

Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.

DISNEY is a profit centered business. They are not in the business of helping or encouraging new writers.

Yeah, they can take the decades of steady work they’ve given to people in all departments and SHOVE IT!

Boris the Occupy Wall Street-er! has spoken. Bow down accordingly.

Yes, it is Broadwayflash.  Clearly others don't read most posts closely.  Sutton is snarky & has strong opinions, but isn't a complete moron.

This, plus the success of Disney on Broadway has enabled current and former DT leadership to act as individual producers or investors. Peter Schneider being a notable example.
