Maybe it's a wishful dream on my part, but I have a feeling she might sing - something from Broadway with one of her "movie partners" (to promote the new album and concert tour) or, even better, in my opinion, something from Funny Girl - or wouldn't it be thrilling if she did Miss Marmelstein from I Can Get It For You Wholesale?!

Ratings-starved shows don't tend to traffic in surprises.

I can't imagine she would sing. But yea, it would be something!
I wonder if she finally decided to appear on the show because she's figuring the Hamilton juggernaut will bring in viewers, and she does have a new album out.
It would be prime advertising.

Unless the entire Tony Awards was focused on just her, don't expect to see her sing on television any time soon. She's sung on Oprah's show ages ago and fairly recent on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon but she was the only guest so the entire show was devoted to her.
Last awards show she DID sing at was the 2013 Oscars where she sang "The Way We Were" for the memoriam section of the show. The Tony Awards won't have this honor, unfortunately.
NOTE: she did perform a bit of "Miss Marmelstein" (complete will her rolling around on an wheeled office chair) in her 1999 Las Vegas New Year's Eve concert TIMELESS.

I heard Babs is singing "My Shot." She will be replacing Lin in early July.

I was just thinking about her new album... Everyone purchasing a ticket online for the tour will get a copy of the CD when it is released. Based on the size of the venues she's appearing at, I would think the album would absolutely debut in the #1 Billboard slot the week it is released (release is scheduled for August 26). That's if the sales are tracked in a way that they will be captured by Soundscan. Pretty smart on her or her team's part...

My favorite Babs television performance is when she sang "When You Walk Through A Storm" on the 2001 Emmy Awards. They did not announce in advance that she was going to be on the Emmys. Following the 9/11 attacks, the event was postponed twice. Ellen Degeneres hosted and knocked it out of the park. She brought a very uneasy evening a sense of calm and hilarity and escape (to the extent that escape was able to be reached). However, when it came time for the tribute to America's first responders and those we lost, Ellen didn't announce Barbra. She simply said "now here is something completely special." The lights faded up...and she appeared. Her voice ended the evening with the acknowledgement, relief, bonding, and medicine that the nation needed to help us pick up the pieces and move on. It was a perfect television moment.

Maybe I'm wrong but- she won't sing and I doubt she'd leave California if she wasn't going to present the best musical of the year.
