The photos from his new film premiere made me wonder....anyone have any idea?

I doubt it...he can barely make a passable film nowadays (save for the magnificent Match Point).
Broadway seems a little improbable at this point in his career.

'He can barely make a good film nowadays- except his last one.' Does that really make sense?
Um..yes. Particularly because it wasn't his last movie.
Cassandra's Dream (2007)
Scoop (2006)
Melinda and Melinda (2004)
Anything Else (2003)
Hollywood Ending (2002)
The Curse of the Jade Scorpion (2001)
They all were terrible.
I heard Bullets Over Broadway had been in development as a musical with Allen co-writing the book.
Aw, Scoop wasn't terrible.
He's already written DON'T DRINK THE WATER and PLAY IT AGAIN SAM...I doubt he could make a living writing for theatre.
And I loved SCOOP....
MELINDA AND MELINDA is okay except for a clunky framework structure and has some good performances...
JADE is terrible
HOLLYWOOD is kinda funny for his fans--of which I am a HUGE one

Anything Else and Curse of the Jade Scorpion were both EXCELLENT....as was Match Point....I agree some of the others were weak.
I absolutely HATED MATCH POINT and so did the seven people that I went to see it with. After the film we all went out to dinner and went on for HOURS about how awful it was.

No matter what his latest movies have offered....Woody Allen IS definitive New York. That man is a genius.

Well, that says SOMETHING doesn't it? :)
Match Point was brilliant! It was critically lauded so CapnHook I am going to have to disagree with you and your 7 friends(which obviously make up the general movie viewing public)
Match Point had its brilliant moments, but I felt the script needed a lot of work.
I didn't particularly care for MATCH POINT...actually liked SCOOP more.
I agree with the sentiments that Match Point was brilliant. I don't purchase DVD's all that often, but I definitely purchased that one as soon as it came out.
Now Anything Else...that is another story altogether. I barely made it through that.
Manhattan Murder Mystery will always be one of absolute favorites of his...and I have seen them all thanks to an independent study I did back in college.
I enjoyed Match Point alot but have yet to see Scoop, very interested in it though
Scoop was very enjoyable. Fun stuff. Plus Hugh!

Hollywood Ending was truly dreadful - one lame joke stretched over 1 1/2 hours.
I'd love to see BULLETS OVER BROADWAY on stage.
I didn't care for 'Match Point'. They kept paying lip service to the Alan Sinclair character, but we only saw the back of his head in one scene. What a waste.
I would love to see Bullets on stage too. It is one of those films where I never stop laughing...and I still find myself quoting it in everyday conversation quite often. It is, IMHO, one of Allen's best films. And, I think it would translate to the stage very well as long as the casting is as spot-on as it was for the film.
BULLETS: That cast is BEYOND brilliant--Wiest gives one of the flawless screen performances, Tracey and Jennifer are right on her tail and the rest is also top-notch.
MURDER MYSTERY: One of Woody's underrated gems...SUPER funny and a quasi-sequel to ANNIE HALL.
SCOOP: If you like Woody HIMSELF, you'll love this!

Anything Else was NOT terrible... Christina Ricci was particularly fantastic.
And add me to the list of those who couldn't stand Match Point but loved Scoop....
I am just not a fan of Ricci. I didn't mind Biggs. I thought he did a decent job with the Allen style.
