I would also love it if someone could send it to me. I put it on my Christmas list (for myself) and will be purchasing very shortly, but I cannot wait!

Let me start off by saying that I adore Xanadu. I've seen it twice and have adored everything about it. Nothing would make me happier than to see the show rewarded come awards season. The cast is stunning in the theatre.
That said....
I'm not impressed by the CD. I'd been waiting for a week and was thrilled to recieve it yesterday. I immediately turned on "I'm Alive," which is actually my favorite song from the show. I was highly dissapointed. The energy, some great lines, a few sections and the driving drum beat were all missing. On top of all this, the vocals, minus Kerry, were sketchy at best. The ensemble/muses sound like a community theatre group, yet they don't in the theatre.
Kerry also comes across throughout the CD as being very nasally, which is an insult to her voice. Her duet with Cheyenne in the title song is actually painful. The band sounds tinny and muted and the thrill of the songs in the theatre is gone. I did enjoy Mary and Jackie, "Suddenly" and "Magic."
I couldn't help but think that this is one of those shows that screamed to be recorded live for the cast recording.
Oh well.
Just wanted to share....no flaming please...I love the show, but I was just dissapointed by the CD.

Its a dreadful recording. Empty and heartless. Very low production values!
A young actress with Noel coward after a dreadful opening night performance said to him 'Well, i knew my lines backwards this morning!''
Noels fast reply was ''Yes dear, and thats exactly how you said them tonight'!'

Probarbly the worst cast recording for a long time. Wheres the energy and fun thats in the theatre. I watched the last 20 mins again the other day and the theatre was buzzing.

i wasnt a fan of the show (though loved the campy score) but this fails to capture the humor and energy
i must agree with wicked this has to be one of the worst cast recordings ive heard in awhile
Im Alive sounds dead as do many others (Xanadu been another one),Kerry sounds very average to

Compared to the 'Young Frankenstien' CD at $25 'Xanadu' at $20 is a complete rip off! (thank god i dont have to pay for these)

BUT tho you guys love the show, as i do, dont be afraid to not like the CD. So many of my favourite shows have come out on the most awful CDs/LPs and ive been bitterly disappointed.
