I'm gonna take a wild (but educated) guess and say either
***t** *o**e*
or
****t** ****o*e**.
Both are Tony winners who are busy at this current date (and in the near future, both doing the same thing?). One seems to fit the Newton-John/Krakowski profile perfectly, the other, not so much.

Posted: 2/7/07 at 11:52ammy guess would be Cheno as well...and if this is true, i'm sure she'll turn it down since she'd probably rather do Young Frankenstein (which has a better chance of being a hit than Xanadu, IMO).

Who knows? She's a Tony winner who's busy this season.
It sure as hell ain't Donna Murphy or Audra.

no, no, no ~ do you really think sutton foster would even consider doing a half-@ssed musical adaptation of a cheesy 1980s roller disco flick?
as much affection as i have for "xanadu", the movie and it's soundtrack the thought of it being turned into a broadway musical is disturbing.

My point was, she seems completely wrong.
And Yankee, Donna and Audra aren't the only other female Tony winners "busy" this season.

I agree with you there, Rath (re: her being wrong for the part).
I know they're not the only female winners 'busy,' but I didn't feel like writing out a full list. Again, just examples.

"I could just puke at your perceived self-importance."
Pot...kettle...
If the project is still moving forward, I'm still excited. Rumors and speculation are nothing more than that.

Why not? She hopped on Drowsy long before anyone considered it to be anything more than a cute show too small for Broadway. She's got a great sense of humor and an appreciation for camp, so anything's possible. Regardless, it's all just speculation at this point. But one can dream....

Posted: 2/9/07 at 1:39pmHow about Diana DeGarmo? Is she too young for the role? If not, i think this might be a perfect vehicle for someone with her voice and playful attitude. Yes, I know I'll invoke the wrath of Idol haters but darn it she was good in Hairspray and Brooklyn!

Posted: 2/9/07 at 1:43pmno offense, but i don't think DeGarmo is in shape enough to do a roller skating show.

Posted: 2/9/07 at 1:45pmHmmm She's as shapely as Jane Krakowski, imo. Not to mention, she's almost 20 years younger! After watching various Tracy Turnblad's shake and shimmy through Hairspray!, I think a much thinner performer like DeGarmo could handle the physical demands of a Xanadu just fine. I do think her age would be a huge question mark though. Updated On: 2/9/07 at 01:45 PM

Posted: 2/9/07 at 4:19pmI saw Diana the other week in Hairspray and she is definitley in shape to do Xanadu. She looks amazing! Age wise I don't know if she'd be right for it, but regardless I think she would be wonderful. Does anyone know when the rest of the cast will be announced?
