So with the new block function on BWW up and running for a couple of months now, who have you blocked?
None yet. They're all too entertaining But I am close on 1 or 2
Everybody. I don't even see this thread.
BTW - shouldn't this thread be on the OT Board?

I appreciate the "ignore" feature. I use it sparingly, but I use it.
At first, when it was apparent that I was missing something, it was hard not clicking on the "reply to this message" button to read what was being blocked, but soon I realized that my "ignore" choices were good ones.
As I am trying to be a kinder more considerate online person, I will refrain from adding my list here. However I will type that there aren't many people I deem sufficiently rude to make my list: only 7. Those who made my list, I found, offered very little in the way of anything worth reading, and a lot that was best ignored.
I have a few people blocked, but I see no reason to dredge up their names. But I don't miss a single one of them.
Most on my large list know who they are or should.
Of course they do not blame themselves since ,to them, name calling is acceptable. I would rather not use it but it is a godsend.

26 people…just wish I didn't happen to be snooping around these boards when they just happened to have left a reply.
Click on "Settings" in the top right corner, next to your messages and Logout. On the Settings page, the Ignore User function is marked with "New."
I've blocked four users.
Go to settings and you will see it - not sure if on left or right side.
I have about 3 or 4 people on my block list...but only those who post spam messages.
I just went to check, I have three. None of them post very often, so no prob.
I haven't blocked anyone, neither here nor at another forum where I've been a member for 15 years.
I'm certainly not judging those who do use the function; but call me Pollyanna: I always think a fence can be mended (and a metaphor mixed).

28 as of now. Just added one.
I agree wholeheartedly with Mr. Roxy. It truly is a godsend.

I didn't block anyone either... I just pay attention to some posters more than others and if I really don't want to read someone's posts, I just don't.
Not faulting anyone for doing otherwise but it seems to work for me. I try to avoid confrontations..and usually succeed (but not always). The thing is if someone is saying crap about something or someone or me, I would rather know about it.

This board is a mix. It used to be the "nice" board and the other was the "mean one," but that has flipped in the last couple of years.
Many posters are very knowledgable and smart. There is interesting and lively disagreement, which is great, and and a delightful dollop of ascerbic wit.
But some posters say stuff that's just untrue, malign people by name, or act out a pathetic bitchiness that they can't in real life under cover of anonymity. It's tempting to block them, but how would they get called out?
Very good advice, Kathy, and easy to follow!

Considering the fact that the "Ignore" feature was added to alleviate a lot of the drama and fighting, a thread that asks everyone to list who they have blocked is counterproductive and just asking for more drama. I'm happy to see that everyone who has responded has had the sense to list numbers rather than specific names. Sorry if that sounds self-righteous and preachy, but just my 2 cents on the topic.

Keep your friends close but your enemies closer - I don't block anyone. I saw a lot of bitching back and forth once on a thread so I just scanned through the posts to see if anything posted was useful then looked elsewhere. Like Kathy said, I'd rather know than not know.

I wholeheartedly agree with Platypus.
I don't remember his name but there was some dude who was constantly going on and on about his dog Skittles. HIM I blocked.

"Most on my large list know who they are or should…. Of course they do not blame themselves…"
How would one know this if one has them blocked and never sees what they post?
Curiouser and curiouser,
Bridge to sell,
Fork in him,
Toast.
