Posted: 3/16/10 at 12:22pmWithout a doubt, Jerry Bock's autographs on my LPs of Fiddler and Fiorello, which I have framed in my house. They include inside jokes referring to a character I played in a new family musical he wrote entitled, "Danny and the Dragon". He also gave out the best opening night gift I've ever received. Jerry and his wife attended every rehearsal and every performance and they are two of the most charming people I've ever met.

Vanessa Redgrave's on the window card from "The Year of Magical Thinking" after the closing performance. Well worth waiting almost an hour for.
Also, my closing performance playbill which the whole cast of "The Vertical Hour" signed. Andrew and Bill put cute little comments on it for me, and the whole cast signed it.

For humor's sake:
Thomas Meehan signed Cry Baby Playbill w/my name on it saying "Thanks!" He was a sweetheart, but that show was a mess! Good memories seeing it though.

Posted: 3/16/10 at 5:34pmI also like my autograph from Caissie Levy in HAIR...particularly since she gave me a hug after the curtain call dance party and when I took a picture with her at the stage door, it was the first time a stagedoor pic came out clear as day (partially since it was day).

My two favorites would have to be the signatures I got from both Ray Bolger and Ethel Merman at the times they were performing at the Empire Room, Chicago.
Imagine being just a kid and having enough nerve to approach Merman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She was really nice, tho... Bolger was kind of a crab.

This is a tough question, and I don't want to sound like some kind of lunatic describing every single one...so I'll be brief:
--Gary Mauer and Beth Southard at THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA on tour (my friend accidentally left her T-shirt inside, so I waited at the stage door for her, and ended up having a long chat with Beth Southard about the show and studying theatre).
--OBC of CURTAINS (most of them, at least. My first time in NY, and the 2nd show I had seen on Broadway. Everyone signed over their character's box on the poster...except David Hyde Pierce...who didn't come out before our group had to leave...Random story: we found out AFTER returning from our trip that one of the girls in our group is a distant relative of Karen Ziemba! Two months later, her dad is in NY for business, and was able to arrange it so he & his clients could go backstage with Karen and meet David...of course...)
--Chip Zien at LES MIZ (I didn't even know he was in the show until I opened my Playbill. He was so nice at the stagedoor, and even posed a second time for a photo that my friend screwed up. Saw this the night before CURTAINS).
--Patti LuPone at GYPSY (I shook her hand...I shook her hand...)
--Kathy Voytko at EVITA on tour (she fell in love with my friend's miniature Sharpie, so she gave it to her. We chatted while walking up the street to the crosswalk, and then went in different directions).
I'll stop now. I promise to narrow it down to one...eventually...but if I had to pick one now, it would be Patti.
Oh, yeah: I got George Wendt's autograph when I saw 12 ANGRY MEN on tour. Sadly, that program has found its way into the darkest corner of a box I cannot find.

Posted: 3/30/10 at 6:43pmi didn't have a most favorite autograph until quite recently. I was fortunate enough to have terrence mann sign a print i have of the original rum tum tugger costume design when i went to see the addams family last week. he is one of my idols and this was my first time meeting him. i've been saving that print for about 11 years hoping to have him sign it in person one day, and it was completely worth the long wait. he was as sweet as ever and even personalized my autograph and added a very nice inscription to it. something i will definitely treasure for a long time. :)
