I was personally hoping for a GG best musical win, because it would help GG pick up in the box office, and it would calm all the SA fan girls down just a bit...
A GREY GARDENS best musical win would have been wonderful, but it wasn't gonna happen. It's my favorite show of the season, but for too many people, it's too out of the mainstream in its appeal. And considered "too gay" in its target audience.
My only real dissapointment was that it failed to win Best Score. It's a exceptionally fine and well crafted score laden with gorgeous, haunting music. SPRING AWAKENING has beautiful melodies as well, but Michael Korie and Scott Frankel were robbed.
That I didn't have a show to be nominated.

Leading actor in a musical - my stomach just sank for Raul. DHP was good, but please, someone give Raul a Tony!
Choreography - yeah, he created a fun vocabulary for Spring, but Curtains, Mary Poppins, and Blonde have REAL production numbers. Just riding on the coat-tails.
Orchestrations - I'm OK with Duncan winning it, but I feel there was more skill involved with ALL the other nominees.
Otherwise, it went down about as expected. Was very happy for Julie White, Christine Ebersole, Billy Crudup, John Gallagher, and Mary Louise Wilson!
That's MY opinion. If I wanted your 2 cents, I would have asked for it.
Grey Gardens for Best Musical (but Im soo over that)
Scott Frankel & Michael Korie- for Best Score/Lyrics
That's about it- I am happy with all the winners !! specially JULIE WHITE - she deserved that damn "TONY" !!!!

That's MY opinion. I don't need anyone to ask for it.
i wanted 110 in the Shade to win something.
