Did anyone see this? I love this show, flawed as it might be. Was it saved on film or CD?
She tried hard, but, boy is it flawed.
was it more of a true concert than a full production (like "wonderful town" or "chicago")?
Regret I wasn't there-all we now have is her rendition of "My Ship". I wonder if they filmed it for the Lincoln Center archives.
Did anyone see her do Camelot with Richard Burton in 1980?
I wish I could have seen her in her earlier shows, but alas, I was either not born yet or wasn't old enough to really be into Broadway.
There's a picture of her in Camelot on her official website, and she looks gorgeous.
I saw her in Camelot in L.A., unfortunately Burton was out at that point and it was before they brought in Richard Harris.
She was wonderful in the role. Prior to that I also saw her in 'Oklahoma' before it went back to Broadway. of the 2 shows I think I prefer her Ado Annie, though it was lovely to hear her sing those beautiful Lerner and Loewe songs in 'Camelot.'
Anyone see her as Lily Garland in the Broadway company of ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY? She was Judy Kaye's understudy.
I saw her play the female in Going Hollywood, a musical version of Kaufman and Hart's Once in a Lifetime, written by David Zippel and Jonathan Scheffer, in a workshop at the Michael Bennett Studios.
She sang a torch song in the 2nd act called "Another Mister Right Left," with music by Sheffer. It was a knockout. Zippel later used the lyric as a song for Barbara Cook, with a melody by Wally Harper.
I don't have a recording of Ebersole singing it, but I have an old cassette of Nancy LaMott singing the Sheffer melody.
Ebersole was brilliant in the ill-fated musical. The director, Peter Mark Schifter, wanted to star her in a musical biography of Lucille Ball.
