There is no definitive "best show". People have different tastes, and this question could have a ton of different answers depending on who you ask.
In my personal opinion, Hamilton and Something Rotten are the two best new shows right now.

Methinks Pinto got a new username. But if this is actually a legitimate question, the gingerbread man sums it up.
I appoligise for any spelling mistakes. I may be on my mobile. Clumsy fingers and small little touchscreen keys don't mixx. I try to spellcheck, but I may miss something.

King Charles III is the best new work I have seen on Broadway recently.

The Lion King
Matilda
The Phantom of the Opera
Spring Awakening
Wicked
Honorable Mentions:
Aladdin
Beautiful: The Carole King Musical
Kinky Boots
Les Miserables

My personal opinion (and some of these aren't NEW NEW)--
1. Fun Home
2. Allegiance (Don't hate me because I put this before Hamilton--I just loved it, despite the negative opinions on this board)
3. Hamilton
4. Hand to God
5. King and I
My "meh" list includes
1. Something Rotten
2. Finding Neverland
3. Curious Incident (too much screaming and long 2nd act, I know I am in the minority)
4. American in Paris (great dancing, strange plot)

Considering shows that opened this calendar year, I'd have to say my favorite is Fun Home over Hamilton by a hair. That could change, as I'm just much more familiar with Fun Home at this point. I have seen Hamilton (once), but I suspect that's not enough to fully appreciate this particular show.

He isn't obsessed with Hamilton! How many threads does he have to mention Hamilton in before you get that through your heads, people?! He doesn't care! He's perfectly happy seeing other shows that are probably even better than Hamilton anyway! Get over yourselves!

I agree with you. I adored FUN HOME and have seen HAMILTON twice. But the farther I get from it, the less it remains in my mind as something so spectacular"
